I thhink that the test was conducted a few days back and have been announced today. Trying to confirm with a submariner i know (if he think its ok to share, which is VERY rare)
The reason why i think that the test was not actually conducted today is that there was no Nav Area warning issued for today!

It was conducted quite some time ago when some NOTAMs were issued but nothing was announced.

it was definitely tested during one of the previously issued Navarea warnings .... today's announcement is just the confirmation of the test conducted during announced warning duration

Interesting, so not a submarine.
Well it does make sense as I remember reading in the DIMDEX thread, Babur has not been integrated with the fire control system /CMS on Agosta 90B.
So this means Babur will deployed operationally on Chinese made SSKs from 2022-23 onwards and Pakistan is testing missile from underwater testing pads so that it is ready for operational deployment by time subs come from China.

agosta is going complete overhaul and change of firing systems to turkish systems too..but i am not sure whther they will end up having babur or will just be limited to 8 chinese subs that are already in construction

That underwater "platform" might be a modified midget sub developed specifically for the missile testing purpose.
