Pakistan complains about RAW activity

By Naveed Siddiqui

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday handed over a list of “specific evidence” to India of the involvement of its spy agencies in acts of sabotage in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan, at the first meeting of the India-Pakistan Joint Anti-terrorism Mechanism, diplomatic sources told Daily Times.

On the other side, India gave the sketch of a suspected Pakistani suicide bomber believed to be involved in the Mumbai train blasts last July. Pakistan rejected this, saying the terrorist attack was conducted by remote controlled explosive devices, the sources added. “India was given some specific evidence pertaining to terrorist attacks in Balochistan and many other places being carried out by RAW’s base camp in Afghanistan,” sources privy to the meeting said, referring to Indian intelligence agency the Research and Analysis Wing.

“The intelligence agencies of India are involved in sponsoring, training, funding and financing terrorist networks in Pakistan, especially in Balochistan, to carry out subversive activities through Afghanistan,” the sources said.

The sources said India had also handed over a sketch of a Pakistani who had been missing since 2006 and who might have been involved in the firebombing of the Samjhota Express train last month that killed 68 people, mostly Pakistanis.

The Pakistani side objected that India had not shared information nor the list of the 604 Pakistanis passenger on board the train at the time of the attack. The Pakistani side also questioned why a Pakistani would kill his countrymen, the official sources said. They said the Indian side did not reveal the name of the Pakistani suspect.

A foreign ministry official told AFP: “The opening round went well. The two sides talked about devising a mechanism to deal with the threat of terrorism. They discussed ways to share intelligence, how to prevent terrorism and if something happens how to deal with it effectively.”

Tariq Osman Hyder, additional secretary at the Foreign Office, headed the Pakistani side at the talks. The Indian delegation was led by KC Singh, additional secretary at India’s External Affairs Ministry. The Indian delegation is to call on Pakistan’s foreign secretary today.

I wish we played the game more offensively. Sofar only India has been crying out loud getting international attention.

I agree. They so easily blame Pakistan for pretty much any bomb blast without any proof and get attention. I am sure GoP can do the same.

India denies allegations of aiding insurgency

NEW DELHI, March 7: India on Wednesday denied allegations by Pakistani officials that New Delhi was involved in a tribal insurgency in the province of Balochistan.

“India has nothing to do with developments in Balochistan,” India's foreign ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna said in response to Pakistan's charges.

The South Asian rival nations on Wednesday concluded their first session of an anti-terrorism mechanism in Islamabad to fight terrorist violence.

On Tuesday, a senior Pakistani government official said that Islamabad handed over to India “a dossier on terrorist acts sponsored by Indian agencies in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan” as the panel met.

The gas-rich Balochistan has been in the grip of a two-year insurgency launched by ethnic Baloch rebels who want more political rights and a greater share of profits from the region's natural resources.

Sarna said that New Delhi also shared with Islamabad evidence of terrorist activities in India, but he declined to give details.

The two countries agreed to share information to prevent terror attacks through the new panel.

The joint initiative to fight terrorism is the latest in a series of steps under a peace process started in January 2004.

No Sir, not really a contest, rather an observation.
ISI was brought in by Adu but all Indian members seem to agree with him.

Peace! :)

Its not only India. If India was alone in crying pout loud, no one would have taken notice. there are a host of world leaders which says you are abiding and protecting terrorists like US, UK, NATO, Afghanistan and even Mushraff had agreed some parties in his force also might be doing the same.

So we basically are milking the situation to the full use.

.
Well US, UK and other powers are using us as scapegoat as excuse for their failure.

And yes, you're milking the situation to full use indeed.
Realpolitik at its best.
