What's new

Pakistan claims JFT export likely by 2017-18.

lol,my instinct says china is not allowing them exports, simple as that, is jft will be exported, it will be china not pakistan

as some guy said too late, jft will be much older generation then

Your instinct is completely wrong..
its Pakistan that has said no exports till our orders are met.
After which there will be no issues with exports.

Around 2017.. the JFT batch-III standard will be available.. which in its own right will still be a potent aircraft against many existing threats faced by the export targeted nations.

Kind advice... Start exporting it soon(even now) before some other countries tries to sell it... Defence purchases in other countries wont be so late as in india...

.
Why ??? China can produce more than 20 AC per year if needed ... so main problem is order

Same case like K8 karakoram, China producing for export while Pakistan make it locally under ToT
CAC is not running the JFT production line right now......The reason behind not exporting this aircraft soon, IMHO, was that this aircraft came with China's cutting edge technology involved, the Jamming pod, BVR, Anionics and Radar were very much at par with what China itself was operating. The export hush increased as soon as we heard that newer generations of system have been developed at China. For all those who think Block II would be exported, if that comes then JFT will not be purchased for backbone but rather front service. However, the probability of export of block II is very acute citing the very reason for exports hold on Block I. It would be block I which would be exported, not block II.

Nevermind........."it happens only in India"...........

Hey i think by 2017, even lca mk-2 will be ready then both the nation will compete on completly other field...
Inshort as the time passes, india and paksitan will change their battlefield to high tech product export war...
Lets see who wins, by now jft is way ahead interms of production and induction...hope the future is bright for both the fighters..

Not exactly.. many of those that have expressed interest will be able to afford upgrading their forces only by 2017..
But this just confirms what I told the naysayers here.

Are you kidding me!? Azerbaijan and Egypt (if not Zimbabwe) have a pretty decent military budget with which they can easily afford FC-1 variants. In fact, apart from Zimbabwe, most other interested countries can easily buy now. They maintain a more expensive and older (cost of maintenance is high) jets. The FC-1 could easily trim down their maintenance costs. Besides, none of these nations are hostile to Russia in order to be worried about Russian engines.

Told em nothing doing on exports until the PAF's orders are met.

Your PAC is making the jets for you... then why China cannot continue to expand production facilities to export the jet? Have you considered its possible reasons? Thanks in advance.

It will start coming into IAF but it won't be before 2020 that our production lines will be free enough for anything other than meeting our defense requirements. Currently HAL has 2 facilities and it has plans for 3 more as per some reports which would ramp up production of the jets. However, to put it bluntly, a lot of heads will have to roll in MOD and GOI if we have to get as ruthlessly efficient as the Chinese in manufacturing speed.

The main exporter is China. Pakistan's production will only be for itself.

You're comparing apples to oranges. HAL's focus is never exports (it is wrong but still) while Chinese target exports like Europeans, Russians and Americans.

I think there is no need for export in 3 or 4 years. First we should complete our own requirements. First produce 150+ Jf17s for our fleet, Then we should go for export.

This plane has to get some exports. It's great for poorer nations.

I think China can handle the exports.

What concrete proof do you have for that?
Have you spoken to Dir-Ops JF-17 here in Pakistan to make that statement?

Dont feel many nations why buy a jet, that is not even used by China, the biggest contributor to the plane.

Maan ko bahlane ko ye khayal achcha hai gaalib

I think their are thousands of source even Pakistani members post hundreds of thread about export of JF17 ;)

1- Egypt operates Russian equipment
2- Azerbaijan may have hostilities due to Armenia issue, but why is CAC testing WS-13 on JFT.....should be a fair hint.
3- Some will, of course, get FC-1 variant while some will look for JFT variant with their custom western avionics
4- PAC ,at current, is the sole manufacturing line for JFT.CAC is filled with J-10 orders of PLAAF and now PLANAF, not to mention their expanding UCAV capabilities.
