Doesn't that sound too late? As many countries expressed their interest in it like Egypt, Zimbabwe, Azerbaijan.....?

Not exactly.. many of those that have expressed interest will be able to afford upgrading their forces only by 2017..
But this just confirms what I told the naysayers here.
Told em nothing doing on exports until the PAF's orders are met.

Poor quality of reporting in referring to JF-17 as a twin engine jet.
If you listen to the commentary in the following video from about 6.30, the commentator claims at least six countries considering the JF-17.

I think it was a typo, if you see, in the next phase, he calls L-15 a single engine aircraft. So i think the person on content editing mixed it up

first we still dont know whether 150 would be final number for PAF or will it order up a follow up of another 100.We know that PAC will be able to easily complete its order of 150 by 2015

second, even if negotiation starts now it takes usually 2-3 years to conclude and another 2 years to deliver an aircraft nowadays..so around 2017-2018 is just about the right time.

The plane will not be exported till the orders of PAF are met, BOTTOM LINE.

Why ??? China can produce more than 20 AC per year if needed ... so main problem is order

Same case like K8 karakoram, China producing for export while Pakistan make it locally under ToT

lol,my instinct says china is not allowing them exports, simple as that, is jft will be exported, it will be china not pakistan

as some guy said too late, jft will be much older generation then

Potential customers
Egypt is currently discussing a deal with Pakistan to co-produce the JF-17 for the Egyptian Air Force.[109] The Azerbaijani Air Forces has negotiated with China for the purchase of several dozen JF-17s, worth approximately $16–$18 million each.[110][111] The Sudanese Air Force is also reported to be negotiating for 12 aircraft.[112] The Air Force of Zimbabwe reportedly ordered 12 JF-17 in 2004,[113] but there are no current sources that confirm payment or intent of delivery.[114][115][116] An article in 2008 reported several other countries including Bangladesh, Iran and Nigeria have been identified as potential buyers.[4][117] In early 2010 it was reported that China had been in talks with around 5 to 6 countries on the JF-17, some of whom had sent air force pilots to test-fly the fighter.[118]
