Pakistan-China Joint Air Force Exercise "Shaheen-IX 2020"

Negative. We'd have seen reverse engineered copies by now. Look at the FC-31, front is an X-35 whereas the rear section is a YF-22. They want to know more about F-16s but they ain't that lucky to get their hands on. Plus it is often the other way around, plenty of PLAAF chaps have defected to Taiwan.

Have heard lately that the Chinese government have been pressuring Pakistan to acquire J-10s. It seems more on their demanded side to supply them in a similar way to FMS programs, but in installments.
Does that mean that PAF does not want to procure them but might have to do it under pressure.

Nobody in their right sense would want to have a deal done under pressure. Such "deals" come with more demanding conditions.

That hardly called "pressuring", its more like dangling a carrot. FMS was carrots.

FMS via USAF had its benefits though. Especially for maintenance and flight training. Otherwise Pak gov definitely doesn't have funds to pay for that on their own considering how much goes into hosting foreign pilots and maintenance personnel.

I suggest not to listen to some who acted as if with credible insider information which nothing but spreading negative rumour about China. @Raider 21

Still remember the VT-4 thread by some?
Clearly from his amateur call of hybrid of F-35 front and F-22 rear. I am convinced this is another wannabe who impersonate as professional.

My apologies if that was offensive. It was also in relation with echoed comments with some pilots who had exercises with the PLAAF recently. It was that particular aircraft, seldom to do with China in particular. And unfortunately for a profession, I am an engineer.....so I may have an opinion or two.

Cheers !!!

Really? If u go to VT-4 thread and look at history. Your lines are very familiar of members bragging talking to the PA personnel with so called first hand news and giving all the negative and bad of VT-4 which places it on the lower list and only to end up VT-4 won the tender as MBT for PA.. I don't know is that called slap on the face for some members?

Yes really. Also I am unaware of what a VT-4 is, and I fairly unconcerned about it. Whatever makes you happy.

Just explain the chinese pressure which you mentioned and @Beast will stop pressurizing you😂 really would be kind if you could explain your statement! Best regards !

How many 4th gen does the PAF need? They already have F16 and JF17's, do we need
another 4th gen J10? I think it is better for PAF to replace F16s with a 5th gen plane.

The recently concluded China-Pakistan air exercises benefited both sides, as Chinese pilots could learn from their Pakistani counterparts' maneuvers and experiences, and China's J-10C and J-11B fighter jets could be used to simulate India's Rafale and Su-30 fighter jets in mock battles, Chinese analysts said on Monday.
With the last Y-20 transport aircraft carrying Chinese troops returning to China from Pakistan recently, the Shaheen-IX joint air exercises between China and Pakistan ended successfully, China Central Television (CCTV) reported on Saturday.
The joint exercises started on December 7 in Pakistan and lasted about 20 days, with China sending warplanes including J-10C, J-11B fighter jets, KJ-500 early warning aircraft and Y-8 electronic warfare aircraft, and Pakistan sending warplanes including the JF-17 and Mirage III fighter jets, according to the CCTV report."
Many aspects of the J-10C mid-sized fighter jet, including the size, aerodynamic characteristics, aviation and weapon systems and overall combat capability, are comparable to the France-made Rafale, a type of fighter jet in service with the Indian Air Force, Fu said, noting that the J-11B heavy fighter jet has very similar appearance with India's Su-30 fighter jet but with superior avionics system."

So the rafale is causing some worry in the neighborhood.

Competent Air Forces throughout the world train for the threat they face- so they can swat it out of the sky when the time comes to do so. Incompetent ones however can only highlight how their procurement of a weapons system causes their enemy worry because they train to fight it.
