Nope you are wrong !!!!

Neither we nor China were invited by India.

Source :- At Aero India, China, Iran blacked out, US No. 1 guest

China it self did not participate this year, they received the invitation

Business-to-Business meetings, product launches and focused presentations by the exhibitors will be some of the highlights of Aero India 2011, the eighth edition of Asia’s biggest air show, organised by the ministry of defence at Yelahanka Air Force Station from February 9 to 13.

More than 600 exhibitors are billed to participate in the biennial show. “A few stalls remain to be allotted,” said Sujatha Sudarshan, director, Trade Fairs of Confederation of Indian Industry, which is managing the event. If need be, a couple of extra halls and stalls would be provided, she said. In the seventh edition, 592 companies, both Indian and foreign, participated. In all, 25 countries were represented.

Incidentally, China which had participated in the last show is not making its presence felt this time, confirmed Sujata. This is attributed to the growing trade rivalry between India and China.

“India is estimated to spend about $80 billion in the next five years on defence acquisitions, making it one of the most attractive markets for global defence firms,” the CII-Deloitte report on ‘Prospects for Global Defence Industry in Indian Defence Market’ said.

The show will therefore, witness a zealous scramble by the global defence aviation giants for a part of the big pie. Among them are Lockheed Martin, Boeing, BAE Systems, and the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS).

The flying displays will see some of the latest fighter planes in the world, sources said. Some of the latest technological marvels in communication, electronic warfare, cockpit display and aircraft manufacturing are expected to be on display.

This show has an added importance since a contract for preliminary design of the Indo-Russian Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft was signed between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Rosoboronexport and Sukhoi in December last.

Now the Indian aerospace industry is opened up for foreign participation up to 26% equity holding. HAL, Bharat Electronics and DRDO, among others will go in for partnerships and joint ventures. “One of the most exciting aero shows” is how Mary Ellen Jones, vice-president, Marketing of Pratt & Whitney said of the show in a SP Guide Publications, the official media partner of Aero India 2011.

india has taken a 180 degree turn on its relations with Iran for several years now.....it was probably done so indian wouldnt annoy their western ''guests''

and this was the only Muslim majority country which supported your stance on occupied Kashmir

When did Iraq (who steadfastedly supported India) Morocco,Syria etc (who main clean neutrality) etc become non-Muslim majority countries ?

I think this thread is useless waste of bandwidth.

1.Pakistan not invited, thats not even a news.
2.China, Because they don't have militry relation with them.
3.Iran, Only thing that i think can be discussed,
otherwise this thread is just for fun.

Does pakistan host any major air shows were international vendors come and showcase there products???:what:

Yes actually..
the NEXT IDEAS will have an air show element to it as well.
previously at every IDEAS.. vendors from every nation except India and Israel came and showcased their products.

Depends..
Is Pakistan floating a tender for new jets??
No.. so why would companies waste millions of dollars bringing their jets here to show off? A small marketing element would be present.
In IDEAS 2006 we had exhibitions by both Saab and LM.. along with lots of weapons manufactures each aiming for a new order.
In 2008.. saab only showed off the Erieye.. the Gripen was off the list.
For Pakistan and China however.. it would give a chance to show off their products.. specifically to countries such as Iran,Burma, Bangladesh,Sri Lanka.. the aspirants for a high end hardware.

If for eg.. PIA expresses interest in new jets.. there would be stalls by Boeing and Airbus and others..
As was the case in 2006..

India is a hot market.. if it holds a show and specifically where there are billions of dollars at stake.. people will spend a few million for a chance at the billion dollar deal.
Would the yield be the same in Pakistan??
Nope..
Airbus went to Zhuhai show?? why?.. because it saw a market there..

Many deals are signed at such shows..
and companies that expect deals.. bring in a large contingent..
Whether Pakistan finds oil tomorrow and becomes a rich country or not.. unless the market exists.. nobody will come even if you lay out the red carpet.

As far as India not inviting.. well.. its kind of silly..
Farnborough was always open to soviet jets.. even with the history between NATO and the USSR.

Although in times of crises.. 77 ...80... it did close its doors.

I think South Asia is a hot market for all big names in the aerospace business. With huge deals in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and a whole host of other countries both in Civillian and military sector, I think Aero-India is a good launchpad for many countries and many companies. The cost of the stall is very cheap and a large number of companies vouch for it.

I think Aero-India has already joined the big league of air-shows.
