What's new

Pakistan China decided to ditch dollar in bilateral trade.

But it will be limited to some amount e.g twenty billion yuan etc. Because there is a huge trade deficit between the two countries
In favour of china what will Chinese do with extra Pakistani paper.?

Pakistani currency is not paper. Dollar only has value because of Saudi oil and Pakistan is now being supported by Saudis so dynamics are different now. China will make CPEC payments in rupee so it will directly benefit us. In this sense we will get three years of free Chinese imports and help our exports grow. Yes we have a trade deficit with China but if you bring CPEC into equation the money China is.pumping back into Pakistan in form of CPEC Investment there is no trade deficit with China.

We can export China at best edible stuff. . Like rice, wheat etc... or some terrif income in yuan using routes etc.. I hope we don't sell resources like saindak or valuable land for yuan.
Best way is to facilitate chinese business in Pakistan to earn yuan . Give them land on lease.
We need to extract our Oil and gas and export that to China as well. China has been offering to set up oil and gas refineries and rigs for ages but the gonglas were not interested. lets see if Imran Khan will...

As you can see, it is easier and cheaper for Pakistan to purchase the Yuan than it is the u.s. dollar... most of our hitech products come from China and Chinese companies deal in their own Yuan ANYWAYS... so its a win-win for both. Chinese currency is one step closer to becoming a global central currency while we get purchase the same consumer goods without having to worry about how many usds do we have left.

with this kind of wisdom I suggest you stay gumnam

Ehh? You miss something. We could let millions of Chinese tourists visit Karachi, enjoy some Indian Biriani, watch some Bollywood movies and have real fun enjoying the local culture. That would earn billions in Yuan.

Just make sure you don't end up eating Chinese noodles/fried rice, watching Kung fu movies all imported from China.:enjoy:

PS: I would be happy to see Pakistan succeed as no country in the world has been successful in exporting to China yet. Not US, Not EU, Not India. Every country has a trade deficit with China.

well then Chinese has to work twice, first come to Pakistan and make things then export it to China...because do whateva the f'k you want, Pakistanis are not working and that is the truth

It is not so much about Pakistanis working. It is very difficult to export anything to China. Almost all countries in the world run trade deficits with China.

Well?

Would you rather buy Chinese goods in usd or yuan? Which currency do you think is going to be easier for a Pakistani trader to purchase using PKRs? The Chinese Yuan or the usd? Our trader has to dish out over PKR130 for $1 while he has to spend less than PKR20 for 1 yuan... China is very keen on making their currency the currency of choice as the medium of exchange for international trade with ultimate aim of replacing the usd. I say we help them along and help ourselves as well.

My friends work in that coal project. Chinese designed the well. We imported huge compressor from Germany I think. Run that and hydrogentation/gasification didn't happens. Later they discovered well design was faulty :D
It's 8 year old now. I hope much R&D has been done. As it is the only resource China lack.

China and Russia have already ditched usd in their bilateral trade. but they are far too big to for the u.s. to take or or do anything against. smaller countries like iraq and libya tried but the u.s. butchered them. Pakistan is the next one to do this. let's see what the u.s. does...I say that they won't succeed because whatever they could have possibly done, they have already done and we are still here and strong as ever.

Russia sells O&G and military equipment to China while importing machinery and other merchandise. Hence it is feasible for them to use native currencies. For countries in subcontinent, this is very difficult. India has been having tough time running trade deficits with both China and Russia.

Yes sir but cpec investment is limited but china Pakistan trade is unlimited.

I think we should wait i may be wrong but until we get report from exxon mobil regarding oil exploration. Lets suppose we get oil well huge as kuwait then it wi be only resource that we can export to china and have $ to pay our debt.

Now after this we have to deal with yuan. I may be wrong

They can buy assets in Pakistan.

you missed my point...we did not fall apart like the other countries did. Iraq and Libya were basically finished while we are still here, alive and kickin'...

Pakistan would've died like Iraq and Libya had the military not surrendered in 2001.

Military surrender meant only 420 US drone strikes on Pakistan.

Why not. We watch Indian Bollywood, eat Indian Biriani, so what if we also watch Chinese Kung Fu movies and eat Chinese Noodles. It's not like we have anything Pakistani to lose. We might even get Khadim Rizvi and his TLP toasting a Chinese or two for blasphemy just to keep things exciting !

Under CPEC China is to invest in Pakistan now Chinese companies have to pay Pakistani labour constructing roads dams and power plants in rupee which they bring from China in form of dollars now they will just bring rupee against yuan and pay them. Then they have to pay for fuel bills electricity bill for their contracts and they do it in rupee so there is a lot of money coming under CPEC and it will help Chinese to buy rupee in yuan as our domestic trade is in local currencies. It is a detail subject to explain but on the whole Pakistan has no trade deficit in actual terms if we count in money flowing back in form of Chinese FDI under CPEC. So trading in domestic currencies is very much possible for Pakistan and China.

there are only 3 things that anyone can export to China, oil, gas and raw materials. THAT IS IT! And its well played on China's part, they kept their labor cost the lowest in the world coupled with their massive infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities. An average Pakstani or indian businessman does business to make "dollars" and live a comfy comfy life where he works 10 to 2 and go on long drawn and expensive vacations in dubai and europe while the average Chinese businessman does business like a dedicate spec ops soldier fights wars i.e. he aims to WIN, crush the competition and DOMINATE. And now they are reaping the benefits of it. Simple as that.
