Its very difficult to catch a helo on the radar of a SAM system unless it is flying very high. Helos can fly along the ground avoiding radar detection using the topography. Thats what sealed the fate of Osama Bin Laden !!!

Thats true. Helos can fly truly "nape of the earth" and manuever unpredictably. Much more than aircraft.

Hi, your comment, while intended to be funny, hides the fact of this serious development. India is also buying Apache attack heliocpters. With the addition of this bird, Paskistan is at a serious disadvantage. These helicopters can decimate entire tank divisions, as was shown in the first Gulf war by Apache A-64a gunships. India is getting the A-64D gunships.

What does Pakistan have to counter? Hand me down second hand refurbished Cobras, without spare parts? The PA will be seriously outgunned in a shooting battle.

Other than statements sounding like a repeating broken record "the defense of our country is impregnable", the PA has not inducted anything noteworthy in regards to helicopters. They unfortunately have no money. It is sad that the PA does not have a large attack helicopter fleet. But then again this civilian government is so corrupt, what is to be expected...

I don't think Pakistan has the means to go chopper to chopper or tank to tank to counter this. Based on a few things that I've read here, I think the strategy is to counter this threat with what the Indians don't want to be countered with.......I guess that's what the Pakistanis call 'minimum deterrence'.

You do realize that Rudra is weaponize Dhruv and not LCH which is different.

weapons platforms and avionics of HAL Rudra and Light Combat Helicopter are the same

"ALH Mk-IV " Rudra " completes Development test , First Production ALH Mk-IV Ready". IDRW NEWS NETWORK. September 22, 2012. Retrieved 29 September 2012.

I think in general , we need to get our own Helicopter Manufacturing Line setup that is the best case scenario
We can't fall behind in Helicopter Department as they play a vital role to support ground troops and Army's movement

The JF17 thunders could wipe out the Helicopter fleet easily however we need to have our own Helicopter (Attack Helicopter)
force,
we can't call the Military Modern force unless we have our own locally produced Helo

well sir for that we already made arrangemnts as the Tank collums will move with Akash , Tunguska and some other stuff + they will be given close air support by jags,MIG 29 & Bisons how will PA counter them ?

Indian Army has got a local attack helicopter, congratulations for the development.
Flexing muscles and threatening to finished off all Infantry of Pakistan, that is ridiculous. Please grow up.

Bhai, If this is the case, then nations will stop producing tanks.

BTW tanks also get air support from Aircrafts and Attack Helicopters. It isn't that you can come in front of tank and fire it.

Anza is good answer but you need better platform too.

Well em happy coz of this development of HAL...
not coz India got another Heli bt coz it will do some thing beneficial and will act as warning bell for our defence policy maker ..
well i suppose Anza mark 3 is a very good option and very very cost effective...
PAC new assembly plant is under construction and i also heard that they have heli assembly and repair plant there...
maybe also production plant soo chances of locally produced or under license buliding helos are much more than in the past...
well overall i don't know that bird characteristics(actually i didnot bothered to) but it is an impressive and good looking bird..
Good thing about Indians is that they are not relying on any other nation in field of defence fron submarines to AWACS and helis, tanks etc..
they have their backup plan everywhere...

its a discussion thread not a question thread sire..!
don't blow trooling...
well i like your plans personally..
you designed whole battlefield you should be an Army planner in higher command of IA...
well it's PA headache soo let them think..
why are you being worried??
soo u will transfer Jagwars and Migs here??
i suppose those would be SU and Rafael series....:rofel:
well don't discuss jets here thats infantry thread and helis are being discussed here coz those are threan to PA infantry...
well as far as Akash concern here are good answers by PA...
those can be countered..
and helis could also easily be countered by Anza mark 3 if those are used wisely bt they are still threat..
we need to counter them by having own attack choopers....
Army is neglecting it's aviation wing...

well sir Rafales and MKI's wont be there to give air support to ground troops , machenised colloumns and other assets thing is that PA needs and air arm as indians knew about its imprtance after 1971 & kargill and started working on iy back then akash batteries will move along with the mechanised collumns so will the others like Tunguska and the Tanks and nfrantry will also have AA cpability + attck choppers like Apache , LCH & Hinds + other asstes while jags will be used as bombers while MIG 29's will fend of the hostile airal attack and bisons will give the back up my question is what is PA answer to this ...kindly do reply Thanks

SOME SOOPA DOOPA PERFORMANCES BY THIS BUFFALO COPTER

=> In November 2005, a Dhruv a crash-landed in Andhra Pradesh, causing the entire fleet to be grounded; the subsequent probe found a fault with the helicopter's tail rotor blades,
=> On 2 February 2007, during rehearsals prior to Aero India, a HAL Dhruv of the Sarang helicopter display team of the Indian Air Force crashed, killing co-pilot Squadron Leader Priye Sharma and wounding the pilot Wing Commander Vikas Jetley; Vikas Jetley died in January 2011 after being in a coma for over 3 years.
=> In October 2009, a Dhruv helicopter of the Ecuadorian Air Force flew into terrain while attempting to fly in formation with two other helicopters close to an air force base near Quito. Air Force General Leonardo Barreiro told reporters that the helicopter had been destroyed in the crash. The remaining six aircraft were grounded during the investigation.
=> In February 2010, a Dhruv helicopter team of the Indian Air Force was forced to make a crash landing while rehearsing for the "Vayu Shakti" air power show. An IAF official was quoted as stating "Both pilots are safe after they had to make a controlled crash-landing due to loss of power in the chopper".
=> On 21 April 2011, four army personnel were killed in a Dhruv helicopter crash in north Sikkim.
=> On 19 October 2011, a Dhruv operated by India's Border Security Force (BSF) crashed in north-east India, resulting in the deaths of the three crew on board. Immediately following the crash, the remaining five Dhruvs of the CRPF were grounded.
=> On 15 January 2012, a Border Security Force Dhruv crashed onto the runway at Raipur airport. The helicopter was engaged in a series of test flights when the crash occurred, there were no deaths but all five of the crew onboard were injured

You do know that these are 7 crashes since 2001. That is 12 years. And out of the lives were lost in 3 crashes. Only the first one was a design flaw. Most of the other were pilot errors including the Ecuadorian one. The one in sikkim was due to very bad weather. So very likely another pilot error. You do realize that even F22 which can literally fly by itself has also fallen from the sky.

But then you won't understand. For that your country needs to build something comparable. First please make that world war II gyrocopter atleast look like a helicopter. Then we can talk.

(RUDRA) is very small task for Pakistan,World must be laughing on this heavy weight so called copter. It can only be used as a small transport Bus..................I have never seen this ugly copter .its a shame for India............ANza 1 would be enough to down (RUDRA).
