LAHORE - Pakistan Twenty20 team captain M Hafeez has said that they have devised a strategy to defeat the arch-rivals in the upcoming event in India. He said the fast bowlers of Pakistan will have to work hard to break the batting line-up of the Indian team. He also said Saeed Ajmal and Shahid Afridi were the best spinners of the world. The captain noted that matches between Pakistan and India were always tense, adding that all players were fit and would hopefully deliver good performance. About team combination, he said it was up-to the management to make a decision. Hafeez has said it is the team management which will decide the opening combination for the upcoming tour of India which will start from December 25 with first Twenty20 international. Hafeez, while talking to media here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday after a training session for India tour, said: “I cannot say who will open the innings as there are four to five options ahead of the team management which will decide a best combination to sustain the pressure of opening the innings. It is the responsibility of the team management to come up with a match-winning combination keeping in view the might of their opponents.” To a query, the T20 captain has said Ahmed Shahzad, who is also a contender in the opening pair, has booked his berth in the Twenty20 squad after exhibiting his prowess in the domestic cricket and the National Twenty20 Cricket Tournament and he is in good form which will surely help the team management to consider him but he ha to maintain his good show and deliver well against arch-rivals India. He said every match, no matter, it was being played against a weaker or stronger opponent has its own pressure and playing against India bring in a lot of pressure but efforts would be made to put an impressive show to defy Indian challenge. “Hard work and higher display of commitment on part of the players will be the key to success against India and I am confident we will give tough time to India. One thing is very clear that we have a defined role for every player so that he should give his hundred per cent to enhance the team’s performance and steer the team to victory with his individual perfomance,” he added. Hafeez called upon the bowlers to support ace spinner Saeed Ajmal in bowling to share the responsibility. “There is no doubt Saeed is a match-winning bowler but there are other bowlers too who should endorse his efforts with an exhibition of quality cricket which will be the need of the hour in T20 games,” he said. Terming both the teams well-balanced, the T20 captain said that we should not consider India team as weaker opponent and undermine its strength after its Test series loss to England. “Test and T20 games are entirely different games and their requirements are also different. We will take on them with complete planning and strength and try our best to defeat them at their home grounds,” he said. Talking about former Pakistan team captain Inzamamul Haq, who is now batting consultant of the team for India tour, Hafeez said Inzamam’s attachment with the team was a good omen for betterment of its performance especially in the batting department where the services of any experienced batting consultant was badly needed. He said his presence during the camp was very beneficial in terms of amending batting flaws of the batsmen. “Inzamam is a very experienced batsman and he contributed valuable efforts to improve the batting skills of the players. I am confident he is fully capable of strengthening our batting by imparting his expertise to our batsmen,” he said. “The practice matches are of greater significance as they helped the players in getting back their form and to get much-needed batting practice ahead of a tough India series. I urge all of them to take India a tough opponent and try their best to defeat arch-rivals in both the formats,” Hafeez concluded.

Pakistan doesn't need any plan. They will beat India any way with India's current form.

No matter what type of form the Indians or Pakistanis have, one thing is sure...it would be totally a different ball game in India vs Pakistan matches. :bounce:

I donot think so...India is in pretty bad shape....By looking at the form and quality of cricket played by both the nations recently, Pakistan deserve a win this series...of course unless and otherwise Pakistan choose to loose this series.....

nah kar yar......Neither we have good batting line up nor we have good bowling line up this time round .the sole bet will be saeed ajmal in bowling ...batting is fragile like hell ...This batting line-up can't take the pressure we have seen what they did in semi-finals in india ...from a very very good position they lost the match ....

Gone are the days of wasim, waqar, akhtar ,inzi and yousaf ....now we dont have quality in our line-up ....In t20 india has a better batting line up so is the case with odi

To the Pakistanis - pls don't waste "chalks" to make plans on how to beat India, India is already in very terrible form, so u'll win anyway

why is it???
Because nothing has changed since we stopped our cricketing relations with Pakistan. The reason for that is still unresolved.

As far as economic ties are concerned, that I agree because economically stable Pakistan is must for our own security, I know its weird but its the truth.

But when it comes to Cricket, we should remain with our old stance. I know many won't agree but I still think Cricket should be a different topic altogether.
