Pakistan can become world’s leading economy

As the saying goes: 'God helps those who help themselves'. No one on Earth can do it for you! They can only provide some help. The onus for becoming a leading economy rests in good governance.

An example is the nose dive that India has taken - from one of the fastest growing economies to one of the slowest laggards with a mind boggling current accounts deficit. We are almost at 'junk' status now. The reason: Bad governance and crony capitalism.

Problem with Sindh & Southern Punjab is that they are still in clutches of feudal system. Baluchs are still in clutches of Sardars - that's why they are lagging behind.

Feudalism should be abolished as soon as possible. Concentration of power in a few hands . is definitely not a good thing.

We are still one of the fastest growing economies in the world, +5 % growth is not bad in global recession, forget those idiots in the opposition blaming the government for not achieving double digit growth!

Concerning the deficit: It will become better after some time till the austerity measures will take effect and if the global economy starts to run of full steam again.

And please explain crony capitalism!

On topic: What Pakistan needs to do is to first get rid of the Taliban and other terrorists and provide security at least in its bigger cities and industrial/potential industrial areas. Safety and a stable government are the KEY FACTORS for economic success!

Furthermore, the fact that so many people want to impose Sharia law wont help either to attract foreign investors.

I dont know about other comparative advantageous in Pakistan but the location close to the Arabic sea and to China and India as huge markets might be fruitful (Without considering the obvious political problems).

What about English? Is it an official language in Pakistan? Having an English speaking qualified labor force is crucial for a good service industry in the globalized economy. Sacrificing English for the sake of national pride is a lost chance and quite stupid IMO.

Just talk talk talk and walk walk walk.... nothing practical... batian karnay say ecnomy nahe banti economy kiliye Infrastructure, eek cheez hoti hey Insaan aur phir hoti hey uske ZINDAGE so "Security" and the very first thing HARAAM KE KAMAYE KARNAY WALAY HUKMARAAN loot maar walay nahe balkay the thing is NEYAT jinka agenda objective he economy ko sah ikarna hey wesay loog chahyeen...

idar cycle chalani ati nahe chalay hain jahaaz uranay..

Ok. Crony capitalism is a term describing an economy in which success in business depends on close relationships between cronies of business people including bureaucrats, government officials and politicians.

And what about 'crony socialism?

Well for that lets hope IK is there rather than noora / zardari.

Tajik vs Pashtoon war is fast becoming a possibility post US withdrawal. Pakistan will surely rise from the ashes of strategic depth but would need more time.

Pakistan is already a very large country in terms of trade...trading with over 80 countries of the world; it's on Goldman Sachs' growth map which forecasts Pak economy to be among the top 20 by 2025.

Pakistan has the world’s sixth largest population, seventh largest diaspora and the ninth largest labor force. With rapidly declining fertility and aging populations in the industrialized world, Pakistan's growing talent pool is likely to play a much bigger role to satisfy global demand for workers in the 21st century and contribute to the well-being of Pakistan as well as other parts of the world.

True sharia and true deen are required with full faith and a Pious general , all shall be fine.
