Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed satisfaction over the current level of relations between Pakistan and Iran, calling for further expansion of bilateral ties in diverse areas.

During a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Islamabad Alireza Haqiqian on Wednesday, Zardari recalled his trips to Tehran and stated that the exchange of visits between Pakistani and Iranian officials attests to their convergence on a host of issues as well as the strong relations between the two neighboring and friendly countries.

He also attributed the increased economic cooperation between Islamabad and Tehran to strenuous efforts made by both Pakistani and Iranian officials, stressing that the two states share common views on a great many regional and international issues.

Haqiqian, for his part, welcomed the advancement of Iran-Pakistan cooperation, expressing hope that Tehran and Islamabad would continue their collaberation in all fields.

President Zardari will complete his five-year term next week.

On August 10, Pakistan’s president-elect Mamnoon Hussain called for the expansion of ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all spheres.

Hussain pointed to the policies of Pakistan’s next government on promotion of ties with neighboring states and said he expects to travel to Tehran to discuss development of bilateral relations with senior Iranian officials.

On July 30, Hussain, backed by the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N party, was elected as Pakistan’s 12th president.

Better for Pakistan to welcome Arab investor to build refineries in Pakistan to utilize local oil and gas; also take some pipelines from Iran as well.

Pakistan has been subjected to sanctions every now and then. Time is not far away when international gangsters will focus Pakistan. In such circumstances, it is in the interest of Pakistan to have stronger ties with Iran, which has survived sever sanctions since long. Not only survived but has been building its capacity.

It is highly unwise on relying on those countries who can succumb to western pressures, as they would not take a second to change their loyalties.

Iran is not serious in expanding relations with Pakistan, they are friends of our enemy. Iran is also supporting BLA.

You might be right and we should stop them.

I am not saying get ourself away from IRAN. I am saying welcome the Arabs to build refineries in Pakistan to utilize oil and gas. Also Pakistan should try to take pipelines from IRAN of Oil and Gas to fulfill its growing needs and even to supply to other countries as well Like India and China.

iran should either choose her neighbour pakistan or india, not both at the same time

I agree and not one comment from Iranian here as well expressing expansion of ties. Iran is with India so Pakistan should proceed accordingly.

ISI gave leader of Jundullah to Iran, there is no source stating Iran has reciprocated when it comes to BLA.

Reggi was serving the BLA interest on the other side of the border, later the escape to Pakistan. Then he flew toward Dubai and got trapped. While ago started the thread about Saddam role in Baluchistan insurgency , people will also find Dubai been playing dirty role and provide refuge to these Anti Pak elements, since 70s.
