Army Public school massacer was the result of Pakistan's attempt to clear FATA to bring some peace and stability within the region. The school was targeted because it had students who were the children of serving army personnel. The militants spared nobody children teachers boys and girls were brutally massacred.

And lets hope PTI comes to power---delivers very well on the ground across the board for first two-three years---and then the hand of the state comes down heavy in Punjab

Regarding Punjab it is common for Afghans to refer to the entire Pakistani nation as Punjabi. Even Punjab itself is diverse from the north to the south. Different dilects/ languages, clans, landscape and social class. A place and group of people are usually grouped together by the language they speak. In most cities of Punjab the people prefer to speak Urdu then Punjabi. Afghans need someone to blame, never mind Mr Ghanis corrupt incompetent government just blame Pakistani Punjabis.

This is where Pakistan desperately need to improve its Police and law enforcement teams. It is the duty of the police to secure the urban and rural parts of Pakistan. The armies role is to defend the borders. Due to lack of policing the army also has to work as a police force whilst guarding the borders.
