Pakistan blocks UK offer of military aid for flood victims

Thats spectacularly self-suicidal.

This means pakistan will only accept aid from nations that are hostile towards India. Ridiculous!!

Please!! Pakistan has more strategic aims that not just revolves around India.. There is a bigger multi polar world out there we need to engage with.. Get over it, the world is not just about India

And where does the article says Pakistan is rejecting military aid on the basis that Britain is friendly towards India?

Also FYI we rejected military aid means we dont want English armed personal on our soil!! if they are that keen to help flood victims, why don't they send food, medics and etc.

UK aid is all welcome just bring it to air port in Pakistan our military will dispatch it through Pakistan Army Aviation Corps or through US Air Force Choppers. No need for Brits here.

Where i understand, Pakistan blocks military aid to flood victims not only for political reasons but there may possibility of nation security concerns and more over behavior of British prime minister towards Pakistan also played negative role in relations. This is right move toward British government and where I think Pakistan would review the visit of Nick Clegg.
British government must return his word back before any talk or conversation with Pakistan. :smokin:

The lengendry ISI steps in. We made USA pay heavy price for embargoes..Wonder whats in for the UK??

Please convey that message to the children dying in the floods. They will appreciate the gesture of chest thumping spooks.
They have not asked to block aid.In fact they have said that just deliver aid to our air bases and we will deliver it through our logistics no need for Brit Soldiers.

ISI is #1 intelligence agency in the world what they are doing its in our interests. :smokin:

How idiotic to imagine India is our mirror of watching the world. No sir, India is not as important as you are trying to imagine. And the better way to describe the situation is that Pakistan will accept cooperation from the countries who are indeed a support for us.

Thank you for your time and being unthoughtful.

In such case we should first roundup those who are responsible for floods.

Also, ask Zardari and ministers who left Pakistan to attend private party of Balawal Zardari and wasted millions on shameful tour of England.

India and Afghanistan released waters in synchronization and Pakistani parliamentarians broke the safety walls, interrupting its natural flow.
This results in settled water and much of the disaster.

Govt. is only good in touring and putting up fake camps for media show. Only army is working relentlessly 24x7.

No foreign state or local Pakistani (incl. respective party members) are willing to trust the govt. for a single penny. Is this not enough to tell the tale?

Instead of reaching out to their people, politicians are hijacking private aid convoys with complicity of local administration and police, which is being re-sold in the market.

Govt. is not willing to send a bottle of water to dying children but they are demanding aid in hard cash.

BTW... so far, replies to the news report has been quite amusing.

It seems PA is much concern for its reputation and not ready to follow GOP lines. Well, atleas somone in Pakistan has some pride and integrity.
People of Pakistan has raise much money and material, all they need is organized distribution. Keep cash away from corrupt govt.

If you delve deeper it's more than just a case of chest thumping spooks. I'm hoping the high-up's have taken the decision on the basis of needs and not for political connotations. In light of the scale of this disaster the associated aid should not be in any way attached with the current political climate.
However, what it does require is effective co-ordination and disaster management at the highest level i.e government to government level.
If the Islamic Republic of Pakistan feels that foreign military personnel are not of immediate requirement it has the right as a sovereign nation to refuse it. Pakistan has enough personnel in the form of it's security services and civilian administration to handle this specific requirement, not to mention a plethora of National and International NGO's and charities operating at the moment.
The immediate need is monetary assistance, Helicopters, food, shelter
and other logistics supply.
Pakistan isn't a Banana republic that should allow every Tom, dick and Harry to start to come and operate on it's soil.
Allowing Foreign troops onto our soil unchecked will cause far more headaches than things it will solve.
If these countries are sincere they'll co-ordinate with the government and establishment to form a robust needs based disaster management response. That way there will be far less "dying children" you talk about.
