Pakistan biggest mistake!!!!

Hi iam starting this thread about kashmir. My dear pakistani friends always dream of kashmir. I think pakistan lost golden oppurtunity in 1962 to take kashmir. In 1962 when weak india was engaged with China in war , pakistan had golden oppurtunity to open its India borders and capture kashmir. Was it failure of Pak foriegn policy or weak pakistani leadership. BTW who was leader in 1962 in pak????

we are not like indians when they see weakness attack nighbers (1971).i think war is not solution's of Kashmir in 1962 or 2009.and what you think abut country policy will change every day. even today what you think if india become under any crisis we have to take benifit of that ? its shameful.

War is not solution on Kashmir, even if Pakistan had captured in 1962 then after few years India again try to recapture it and it become endless cycle of war.
Only way is to solve it peacefully and according to the wish of Kashmir people.

I agree but i think Pakistan biggest mistake was allowing that Dictator General Zia to turn Pakistan into a extremist state.We already had ethnic differences and now we have sectarian issues..secular vs religious etc and we are paying for it now.We should have never trained our youth for Jihad either in Kashmir or Afghanistan..instead should have given them good education...Mullah-Millitary Alliance destroyed Pakistan.The amount of money we spent on Kashmir and fought 2 wars just for Kashmir could be spent on education and development.

Many in Pakistan also believe that 1962 was the right time when Indian troops were engaged in NEFA. Field Martial (self proclaimed) Ayub Khan was the President of Pakistan and his press secretary Mr. Altaf Gauhar (now late) has shed some light in his book "Ayyub Khan, fauji raj ke pahle das sal". According to Mr. Gauhar, Pakistan dared not to enter its troops in Indian Administered Kashmir because:

There was a secret military pact signed between the USA and the India according to which USA were to help India if India was in the state of complete defeat in the hands of Chinese.

President Canady's regime had warned Pakistan not to take advantage of the NEFA situation and not to open up another front for the Indians.

According to Mr. Gauhar, had Pakistan had entered its troops in IAK, US bombers were soon to be seen in the Pakistani Skies.

That is all I know, and from Mr. Gauhar's book. Even though I was never able to confirm this ‘secret India-US defense pact’ of 1962 but it is also true that Indians call for assistance was answered by an outpouring of arms from Britain and the U.S. Maybe some other members have better information on this subject.

until all three parties agree to a unified accepted solution the problem will continue.
Suppose if pakistan attacked in 1962 and took indian part, do u think india would accept.
No, then indians would have been doing what pakistan has been doing.

I have also heard this from someone else.Mr Kennedy personally wrote letter to Ayub Khan and warned him but UK was supporting us.UK FM said instead of supporting our enemy friends (India was USSR Ally) we should support our friends (Pakistan) but i find it hard to believe that US would have intervened however Soviet Union was also thinking about attacking China.

I doubt that was our biggest mistake having uneducated idiots run the country is our biggest mistake.
