Pakistan becomes largest exporter of young doctors to UK

Is the strike of doctors in Pakistan over?

.
Until economic situation and job situation in Pakistan improves intellectuals and highly-skilled workers will seek work abroad. Many of these professionals do want to work in Pakistan but they have little opportunities with good income.

.
my personal experience....this young doctors work in UK like nurses…..some years ago, there was huge demand for Indian nurses in UK, now the trend has changed, they are recruiting doctors from poor countries who get the same salary as nurse and they too enjoy since they get to work in UK…

.
Here in Canada, Radiologist who did my wife's ultrasound is also Pakistani. Though I dont support Brain drain but as a human being every one needs facility, salary and money. In our country, this is not possible with straight ways (you know what I mean). My wife is dentist and I know how difficult it is to establish in India without anyone's support.

I know doctors who make lakhs every month through private practice in multiple private hospitals + consultation at home. There is a famous neuro surgeon near my home who sees around 40 patients every day at his home (20 in morning , 20 in evening). The going rate is Rs 200 per consultation (There is no fixed charge and he doesn't ask it either)..thats Rs 8000 per day just sitting at his home.

.
And yet a large swath of ungrateful British people continue to hate Pakistanis in Britain meanwhile their health care and service is supported by a large number of Pakistani Doctors. Same story for other fields as well Engineering and Computer Science to another extent.

They act as if there is no contribution being made by Pakistanis there. The hell with them.

.
Recent doctor's strike could have worked as catalyst in many doctors deciding to leave pak.

There are two sides to this story. At one level I am happy to see that Pakistan produces Doctors who meet the exacting standards of NHS [ UK Health Service ] and no doubt will go on to be ambassadors for Pakistan in UK or beyond. Solomon-2's interaction with a Pakistani doctor has had a positive effect on him and these examples counter the negatives stories you get in the media about Pakistan.

However on the other hand every doctor Pakistan loses is a trickle in the brain drain that is taking place and overall will have deleterious effect on Pakistan. We are losing our best to the outside world. Also most of these doctors probably will not come back as they become increasingly accepteded and confirmed in their host communities.

I know the English are very accomodating people to any foreigner in particular to those whop contribute to the society and in UK NHS is seen nothing less than a national god. So these doctors will get accepted very quickly into the suburban areas of UK where they will end up taking residence.

With a General Practitioner in UK earning easily over £100,000 I doubt many will go back to Pakistan. That is sad and tragic loss to Pakistan.

.
This is very sad infact, the flee of educated class in general. speaking of doctors leaving the country boils me when god damn people were blaming doctors when shehbaz sharif cracked down on them, what was their demand? service structure... and people here were wishing death to them... fear the day when you would be lying in a hospital and there would be no one to take care of you !!

The condition of health department in Pakistan is getting worse day by day due to low health budget and lack of facilities , doctors in Pakistan have less opportunities and low salaries as compared to other western countries so for their better future they are going their . But its a sad fact that poor Pakistani people are suffering from this but Govt is responsible for all this scenario as its a job of Govt to allocate enough health budget every year and develop a proper service structures for doctors and give and good salaries so that they dont think of leaving Pakistan .

Dude, in India we have managed to control the brain drain but we are paying the cost for it….medication cost in India has gone up like anything…for simply checkups specialists charge in thousand rupees…if you are hospitalized, then 3 days stay in hospital costs you more than 3 days 2 nights holiday package in Thailand!

Best is UK NHS!

.
I don't understand what the big fuss is about. Pakistanis produce doctors like rabbits breeding. This is coming from a guy that is related to a former district surgeon of Punjab.
