Congrats Pakistan. In between its sad to see once upon a time superpowers are playing for a bronze.
You must look at the silver lining here and for now its pretty bright. Both came on wildcard entries and ended up fighting for the bronze medal. This is not where we want to be but seeing where we've been (world champs only 18 years ago and recently not even in the running for anything) this is a good sign, one which I really like.
India went from failing to qualify for the Beijing Olympics to competing for the bronze medal. Went from last place in the London Olympics, not long ago, to finishing fourth in the champions trophy.
Pakistan went from being a disappointment after a disappointment, 7th in London, not even competing for any champions trophy medals since 2004 to winning the bronze this time. The 2010 Asian games gold was also a good sign. These flurries of hope are very encouraging. I hope they continue until we achieve our rightful place in the world of hockey once again. That goes for the both of us.
