That is a very good sign....the only Bangladeshi Bank that has numerous branches abroad is Janata Bank....my dad has been a manager of one of them before....i have seen these branches send a huge amount of profits back to Bangladesh annually....Bengalis, especially ones who cannot afford private banks rush here to send remittance home as the government has subsidized it cost a lot any one can afford loans....charges for operating an account is also less.....
I am sure, there are many Bangladeshis in Pakistan who can benefit if our own banks can open up there....and commercially, it will get a lot of revenue.....on other note, our banking industry can develop....
Cheers!!!
Banks usually do business with those individuals and companies with whom they have already established a business relationship. So, Banks from both the countries should be allowed or motivated to open branches in the other. Without Bank branches it will be quite difficult for the companies to organize a big export.
Another point is, there are Pakistani citizens who were once domiciled in BD. A very long time has already passed since 1971 and many have already died. But, even then, this group is more acceptable to BD people than the people from other parts of Pakistan. Reason is we know and understand each other. So, these Karachi people may help foster a better trade relationship between the former two wings of once united Pakistan.
