Special Communication Organisation (SCO) sponsored Independent Living Centre, Skardu

DG SCO visited the Independent Living Center in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, ISPR

People with disabilities are an important part of society, and providing them with equal opportunities is our collective responsibility.

The establishment of a freelancing hub at the Independent Living Center in Skardu is benefiting children and young people with special abilities in the IT sector.

A crafts center was also inaugurated at the Independent Living Center, where women with disabilities are provided with modern facilities to learn sewing and other skills to empower them.

The dedication and struggle of people with disabilities is commendable for the entire society.

Pakistan Army and SCO are committed to providing more such opportunities for people with disabilities.

The Snow Leopard high altitude competition prepares Pakistan Army soldiers to fight on the world’s highest battleground. ISPR

Troops of PakistanArmy Force Command Northern Areas (FCNA) Formation go through various combat phases to remain steadfast at an altitude of more than 12,000 feet.
The annual competitions is to keep the defender of the motherland constantly prepared to thwart the enemy's nefarious intentions.
The competitions also improves the operational preparedness of the Pakistan Army to protect the regional borders at all costs.
A total of 23 teams participated from Skardu, Siachen, Gilgit and Minimarg.
The competitions involved 275 players and their support staff.
The Snow Leopard competition is held annually in the snow covered plains of Deosai in temperatures of -25

پاک فوج کی جانب سے گوادر کے گورنمنٹ بوائز مڈل اسکول چبریکانی میں منعقدہ اسپورٹس گالا ایک زبردست اور حوصلہ افزا اقدام ثابت ہوا، جہاں طلبہ نے بھرپور جوش و خروش کے ساتھ شرکت کی۔ دلچسپ اور سنسنی خیز مقابلوں میں شائقین نے کھلاڑیوں کی خوب حوصلہ افزائی کی، جس سے کھیلوں کا جذبہ مزید پروان چڑھا۔طلباء کی محنت اور لگن کو سراہتے ہوئے ان میں انعامات تقسیم کیے گئے اور ان کے روشن مستقبل کے لیے نیک تمناؤں کا اظہار کیا۔ مقامی افراد نے اس شاندار کاوش پر پاک فوج کا تہہ دل سے شکریہ ادا کیا اور اسے نوجوانوں کی جسمانی اور ذہنی نشوونما کے لیے ایک مثبت قدم قرار دیا۔

During his official visit to Pakistan, Admiral M. Nazmul Hassan, the Chief of Naval Staff of Bangladesh, paid a visit to General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, at Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
In addition to discussing measures to improve bilateral defense cooperation, the conversation focused on changing regional circumstances and shared strategic interests, especially marine cooperation. Both military commanders emphasized how crucial cooperation is to advancing stability and peace.
The visiting dignitary recognized the sacrifices made by the Pakistani Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism and praised their professionalism.
A well-groomed tri-services contingent had earlier given the visiting dignitary the Guard of Honour upon arrival at Joint Staff Headquarters.

The snow leopard is one of the rarest and most elusive big cats in the world, and Pakistan is one of the few countries where it is found. This magnificent species inhabits the high-altitude mountain ranges of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in the Himalayas, Karakoram, and Hindu Kush ranges.

Snow leopards are listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, and in Pakistan, their population is estimated to be between 200 to 400.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, was visited at Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi by Lieutenant General Shaikh Abdulaziz Saud Mubarak Al-Khalifa, Chief of Staff Bahrain National Guard.
Both military commanders talked about the changing regional climate and associated security concerns during the meeting. They also stressed expanding the breadth and depth of the two nations' current bilateral military cooperation and engagements.
The visiting dignitary recognized the sacrifices made by the Pakistani Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism and praised their professionalism.

‘Brain gain, not drain’

Chief of Army Staff Gen Asim Munir also spoke on the occasion. He praised the overseas Pakistanis for their dedication and commitment towards the nation.

“Those who promote the narrative of brain drain should know that this is not a brain drain but a brain gain, and the overseas Pakistanis are the finest example of that,” he said.

“Do Pakistan’s enemies think that a handful of terrorists can decide the fate of Pakistan?” he said, adding that “even ten generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan and Pakistan”.

According to the army chief, “As long as the brave people of this country stand with the Pakistan Armed Forces, your army can easily face every difficulty.”

“Today we are giving this clear message together that whatever stands in the way of Pakistan’s progress, we will remove that obstacle together,” he added.

He also condemned Israel’s military aggression in Gaza, expressing solidarity with Palestinians under bombardment in the territory. “The hearts of Pakistanis beat in unison with the Muslims of Gaza,” he added.






Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Chairman Syed Qamar Raza said that PM Shehbaz positively responded to 14 key demands of overseas Pakistanis and formed a high-powered committee under Deputy PM Ishaq Dar.

He stressed the important role of the diaspora, spread across 160 countries, and confirmed that a mega overseas convention would be held annually every April.
