Pakistan Army Linked to Militant Killings in Swat?

So about akhter ali, army tortures him, kills him and instead of dumping the body anywhere in the city like they're doing, occording to the report, army dumps akhter's body infront of his house, all tortured. Now how does that make any sense? That's just absurd. Why would the army torture, kill and dump the body of a person infront of his own house? to get the family and town riled up against them.
The entire report's a hearsay, even the witnesses account. One doesn't have to study human phychology to know people make up and believe in the rumors of extraordinary, negative or positive, when they have seen and experienced
such turmoil, that's human reaction. I won't be surprised if rumors of ghost sighting started to emerge around "khooni chowk" after things calm down a little more.

There should be no state patronage for badl, but the act of badl is bound to happen.

I am an Afghan, and so are the Yusafzai of Swat. I can only say so about myself and my people, so this is not some kind of official post. It is just about the psyche of my people.

As Blain said, Badal, is like an unwritten law of the land here, we say, "daa da Pukhtano watan day", meaning, this is the land of the Pukhtuns.

What exactly the land of the Afghans\ Pukhtuns means is, The Pushtunwali, as I said, an unwritten but taken for granted law of the land. Among the Prime concepts include:

  • Melmastia (hospitality)
  • Badal (justice/revenge)
  • Nanawateh (asylum)
  • Zemaka (land/earth)
  • Nang (honour)
  • Namus (Honor of women)
  • Hewad (nation)
  • Dod-pasbani (Protecting Pashtun culture)
  • Tokhm-pasbani (Protecting the Pashtun race)
  • De Pashtunwali Perawano (Adhering to Pashtunwali)

These concept are not for the paper, they are followed to the letter even today, including the revenge part.

This is what primarily is happening. In this regard, can anyone say they are doing anything wrong? They are free and independent, they follow their culture, and if this is done for something that the world currently considers a good thing, Why Not?

If for some this is barbaric or horrific, then, they should spend more time in the world outside.

As for my thoughts, I support it, why?

1) We are getting rid of the F@#$%^& low life scumbags.
2) Its good for Pakistan and is helping the PA.

If there is any concern to be had in this regard, it should be, that, only the involved real low lifes get the punishment, and no innocent gets trapped mistakenly.

the people that beheaded pakistanis in public should not be given an easy death

Whenever our Armed Forces are deployed in operations on our own soil even for the most benign and constructive purpose, such accusations are bound to follow; and unfortunately they stick.

Both the good guys and bad guys on the receiving end are Pustoons; the Army is primarily composed of Punjabis. Therefore PA has to be extra careful to avoid any founded or unfounded situations. It is understandable that some of the PA units have suffered casualties; and the natural instinct of comradeship demands retribution in kind.

But such things eventually backfire in a pretty nasty way.
