Surprising to see this lady wearing a Sari as part of the uniform. Either way, she looked very elegant and Pakistanis should be proud that she is carrying their name across borders.

But nothing wrong with a saree they are made to wear a very modest one with aim to cover them up though i think shalwar qameez and dupatta is much better choice for covering up them saree.
Nonetheless, it looks good and nothing big deal about saree like outfit. It is nothing like bollywood sarees that one would say its unsuitable for armed forces.

And in 47 when pak army was formed we had bengali population east wing too whose local dress was saree. So maybe that was also a factor. Nonetheless sari is very commonly worn in Pakistan. Noone even thinks about it let alone pointing out.

Sari should be banned in military---it is not a combat uniform---.

It is a worthless wrap of sheet around the body of a soldier---.

Navy white saree is so classy, the best in office wear or formal wear is navys. So one is sd kit ,other is combat uniform, third one which i posted what it is used for? What does sd stand for in sd kit?

Service dress.

The third one is Khaki..

Worn instead of the variant worn by officer...

A similar uniform is worn by gen officers (Brig and above).. like one worn by Gen Raheel below;

There is also a Mess uniform (dark blue)... aka Mess Kit.

A female soldier wont be wearing it as a combat uniform either.. rather its a ceremonial uniform.

Saree was the only uniform for women in all Military branches before modernization and combat roles.
its not exactly same like how Indians wear it, no belly showing or fancy thing. its a pants, short and then cloth warped like saree, idea was to cover the figure / shape etc.

Doctors and nurses are combat soldiers as well in modern armies---there is no place for a sari---.

Saree "type" uniform? There are literally hundreds of elegant and dignified designed uniforms for female military personnel that can be chosen. But the military decides to go for a "Saree type" uniform. For F* sake grow up and realize the fact that Pak has its own identity and that it is a different country.

Yes our doctors and nurses wear combat uniforms on field camps

Different times different ways of thinking, different roles. during any war or conflict, no one ever heard that sari caused any hindrance to perform duties, were mostly Doctors and nurses.
