What's new

Pakistan Army fires 11 serving officers including Generals for corruption.

General kayani and his brothers & Musharraf was not included ;)
Not Serving Any More, Corruption Charges against Musharaf are from his civilian rule not Military , so it does not fall under Army's Jurisdiction, Gen Kyani is also under Investigation, you might hear something regarding that soon as well :-)

This is a bench mark decision...will put alot of pressure on politicians as well

Its a great step. will go a long way to preserving the dignity and strength of Armed forces, Same should be looked into PAF and Navy. The honour of the institution is paramount. After this, NAB must run like wild horse trampling all politicians in its way

While I agree that charges and evidence can further shed clarity, I would take such a step any given day with eyes shut as we have always seen a hush hush approach in such matters.
Demotions just don't cut it, it has to be dismissal from service at the least.
Based on my experience; brigadiers and above are usually the key players and not just fall guys.

Kudos to Raheel Sharif, maybe he was not a false dawn after all...
If this is the legacy he leaves behind, it maybe as or even more significant than his focus on addressing militancy as a whole.
I sincerely wish him an honorable retired life in future!

As I said, a good first step, but one that needs disclosure of the evidence to evaluate what actually happened. That can only help the accountability process. Being asked to just put blind faith and trust is good, but no substitute for proper justice.

Mr Raheel Sharif earns the respect for being true servant of Pakistan, ..................... unlike nooraz zaradaris and kaptan who pretend to be saviors of Pakistan but fail to act as servants of Pakistan.
