Iran has pretty good relations with India. If they do not care about Pakistan...why should Pakistan be bothered by Iran. We had and we have relation with KSA though we also want to have good relations with Iran.
I understand but the same could be said in reverse by Iran. You can't criticise Iran for keeping good relations with India, Pakistan has literally Tangoed with everyone for the last decade apart from India and, to a lesser extent ,Iran. I think the iranian-india relationship is a leaf the Iranians have taken from the Pakistani handbook.
One has to question what future Pakistan is placing its bets on. As far as I can tell it is attempting to transition from a colonial position from the old western order to a regional power position in the new Asian block. If this is the future you expect then what position do you expect KSA to have in this order, because the KSA is wholly sustained by oil money and the old western order, an order from which it was born.
I am definitely not saying that we should not tango with KSA, all i'm saying is that an element of priority should be given to
what is best for Pakistan. The KSA primarily provides us with one thing, and that is money, this is toxic as it enables corruption, the KSA does not provide any other form of benefit. Look at it this way if you were to lose KSA as an ally (which is not what I am saying should happen) and even if you made it an enemy what could they do to harm pakistan? stop giving us money? fund radical madrasas? that is the only effective tool in the KSA handbook.
Make Iran an enemy, what would happen, Pakistan could have a hard time with CPEC, SCO, proxy war, etc.
Look at Turkey, China, Russia, Syria, Qatar do you see them prioritise KSA over Iran, No, The only new ally KSA has gained is Israel.
Let us look at CPEC, India will attempt to eternally subvert this do we really want the Iranians to not be on our side considering the border we have?
Now that America id dumping Pakistan for India, Pakistan should exploit this opportunity and throw some love to Iran. It is far more likely that Iran will be in a stronger position in the coming future, the KSA may not even be around.
