The discussions focused on a number of matters pertaining to defense cooperation.



General Sharif presented a mementos to President Sirisena to mark the occasion, symbolizing the goodwill of the two friendly forces.

By the way India have military presence to far Andaman and nicobar island and lakshadeep also belongs to india.
US have military presence in Diego garcia and so china ocean will be limited only to pakistan coast.

Aware about string of pearls,Every country trade and investment with each other, what matters is what they can achieve on defence point of view of military base,personnel and installations.If you check majority island countries in indian ocean including srilanka, which majority excluding pakistan more or less trade with india than other country.When china become as equal as US military with power projection, then talk about string of pearls in indian ocean.
