7,5 is strong on the Richter magnitude scale. I heard that people in Oman on the Arabian Peninsula could feel it 800 km away.

Let us hope that nobody was hurt and that no large destructions occurred.

There are often seismic activity in the nearby Arabian Sea also not far away from the epicenter.

KARACHI: An earthquake jolted parts of Sindh and Balochistan on Tuesday.

Tremors which began at 16:29 (PST) were felt for two minutes in Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana and parts of Balochistan.

According to the Meteorological Department the earthquake measured 7.7 on the Richter scale and its epicentre was 120 KM from Khuzdar in Balochistan.

The US Geological Survey measured the earthquake at 7.8 on the Richter scale.

There are reports of several houses and shops being damaged in Awaran in Balochistan. The Deputy Commissioner Awaran has declared emergency at hospitals.

Yup...I am in KPK these days, so nothing was felt.

But I have a relative who lives VERY near the epicenter...let's hope all is well.
