Pakistan Army Armoured Corps makes Military history, unprecedented World Record

Is there a public endorsement of this action from the political leadership? I didn't find one.

The current PM has been to the fence and praised the Military. The previous govt and the then opposition approved it. So there you Troll.

.
The current PM has been to the fence -
The Pakistani political leadership has in fact supported the border fence -

Red herring. The issue here isn't the fence but the deployment of the tank at BMK, which Afghanistan claims as its own territory - and therefore a bilateral political issue, not just a military one.

Suppose the tank emplacement is shelled by the Afghan military? BMK is not the fence. There's no guarantee Imran Khan will not blame the Pakistani military for undertaking a provocation with Afghanistan.

You're just trolling. STFU.

The fence and deployment of any forces (tanks, artillery etc) is all under the same authorization.

There have been provocations by the Afghan's in terms of firing/shelling on Pakistani positions along the international Af-Pak border - the Pakistani political leadership has not blamed the Pakistani military, and given the dislike for Afghans and Afghanistan across most Pakistanis, the political leadership is unlikely to take an unpopular (in Pakistan) position of siding with the Afghans. As Rafi pointed out earlier, Imran Khan has himself visited the border fence and observed the pace of construction.

...the PM laid a wreath at the martyrs’ monument and was briefed in detail about the operations conducted, ongoing stability operations, rehabilitation of temporary dislocated persons, socio-economic development projects and fencing along the Pak-Afghan border, said the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

So new or possible future border area operations were not included in the briefing. Therefore, the Pakistani Army's political flank remains exposed, see?

Now don't get me wrong: I'm all for the fencing and border deployments BUT these should be approached as opportunities to better relations with Afghanistan, not to create or cement new conflicts with it. Yet such concerns are political, not military - and letting the military drive the politics, rather than the other way 'round, is what has led Pakistan into many griefs in the past.

As the late Pakistani general (and later diplomat) Sahabzada Yaqub Khan might have put it, the solution is political rather than military.

Not in the public briefing. The military likely does not want to broadcast details of pending/future ops to the targets.
And, again, ALL military operations (past, current, future) are covered under the authorization for military operations granted to the Pakistani military when they deployed. This is why the military waited to get political cover for the expanded (into Waziristan) operations.

Afghanistan has a responsibility to improve relations as well, and refusing to respect internationally recognized borders and claiming wast swathes of Pakistani territory are not the way to go about it. The final solution may not be a purely military one, but military actions play a role in the overall dynamic and will back up the political solution.

the claim was with British raj Pakistan just inherited the dispute with Afghanistan and UN position is unclear

what is clear is the Golan heights that are Syrian territory but Israel occupies it for it defense necessity and no amount of cursing will change its view on this and you will being backwards to justify it
in the same spirit I urge you to bend backwards until you can see your back and accept that the Durand line marked by Brits was legit

as far as shelling the Pakistani position is concerned well it wont be a new thing we will also retaliate to Afghan hostility.

.
Question is why is that a matter of concern for u? who is Enemy of Pakistan and Islam specially?
Islam is not the property of Pakistan. Enemy of Pakistan does not mean he/she is an enemy of Islam. There are many people who hates Pakistan but does not hate Islam. Don't try to do business with religion.

Its no use at this point.. How can one convince another that securing your own internationally recognized border is not a violation of anybody's territory when he repeatedly points out that you people are occupying disputed territory? Everybody is going in circles here.. It reminds of this video

Its useless. Comparing this to kargil is stunning.

The life and replies on Forum are very different from views in Real life. I had a chat with different officers of Armd Corps and none made a big deal about.

We laughed all the way.

Tanks at 11,500 feet - The Battle for Zojila

original_tks_at_z.jpg

It seems like a jeep.
This midget tank is even smaller then M113.... please don't insult. T59 is real time combat machine.
I also amazed by this pic WHAT KIND OF TANK IS IT. But dont worry their arjun will be better.

.
It is Honey Light Tank (Brit Designation) of WW2 origin. US designation, M3 Stuart Light Tank. Both Pakistan and India had the light tank after independence. Pakistan converted to Chaffee Light Tank after start of US aid. I guess India kept on using these for a longer bit.
