Pakistan and UK Militaries hold strategic dialogue

ISLAMABAD - The militaries of Pakistan and the United Kingdom held on Monday delegation level strategic dialogue to discuss geo-strategic environment and bilateral military cooperation.

According to the ISPR, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa, who is in Britain on an official visit, visited the Ministry of Defence, where he was received by UK’s Chief of Defence Staff General Sir Nick Carter.

Pakistan and Qatar PMs held one on one meeting, key decisions taken
On Sunday, the army chief along with DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor was in attendance at the Lord’s stadium to support Pakistan cricket team in their World Cup match against South Africa.

The COAS , who reached London on June 20, last visited the UK in October 2018.

Pakistan needs to stop allowing the UK to have undue influence on Pakistan particularly the military. This has been a consistent problem throughout Pakistan history. The UK is a small island, we don't need to continue serving their interest in this way.

They dont have any influence over Pakistan and even they know it. Pakistan is just keeping professional relations, learning new things. British military is one of oldest and most experienced and highly professional. Pakistan have a huge diaspora in UK, even a Pakistani British tried for PM. A European country can always be helpful.
Its also true that their growth is stagnated and are sucking up to indians for business, after brexit they will further get closer to india, but our large and infliential diaspora in UK will always help us.

Sadly, the issue is that Pakistan's strongest institutions believe they need US/UK support. If the US isn't going to supply arms, then convincing the UK to release export permits and, ideally, credit (for big-ticket items such as the Typhoon, etc). This is even more acute today due to the IMF's austerity measures. But when you build such bridges, you're going to have to deal with the 'return traffic'.

The UK's export credit agency, UK Export Finance (UKEF), said in its recently published 2018-19 annual report that during the year it finalised "the largest single transaction in its history", which features the provision of a potential GBP5 billion (USD6.4 billion) package to support Qatar's order of 24 Typhoons, nine Hawks, and associated weapons.

In addition to Qatar, UKEF information shows that beneficiaries of UK credit in recent years have included India, Indonesia, Oman, and South Korea. In addition to Typhoons and Hawks, which have also been exported to Oman through credit, other major UK-made defence systems to have been exported through such finance include air-defence systems, hovercraft, radars, and military vehicles."
