He is entitled to his views, and to express them. Talking about his anus or his bowel inflictions will do nothing to counter the gist of his arguments,. Presenting a better counter-argument will be rather more effective.

(If anybody understands this, of course. )

On topic, if Pakistan can get its way in Afghanistan, it will be a huge geopolitical success. Of course, Pakistan will offer something useful to USA in return, but that is exactly how such deals work both ways.

I think the USA under Trump has come to understand that a un-natural situation is not sustainable. Could or would USA put up with a Mexico that was hostile to USA and pro Russia? Ditto Afghanistan and India. This un-natural situation where Kabul is owned by pro Indian lobby was byproduct of what Bush and Musharaf did in 2001. USA can either shore up a pro India ally in Kabul permanently which is unacceptable Pakistan. No surprises then that Pak will do everything to undermine that and given geography and ethnic links Pakistan can easily do that with minimal cost. How is this situation where US props up a pro Indian lobby in Kabul suite US interests?

The only US angle in this is it does NOT want and terrorism emanating from Af-Pak region that hits USA or the West. Trump has sussed out only Pakistan can do that. And that is why PMIK is in Pakistan along with Gen. Bajwa. In effect Afghanistan is going to be left with Pakistan as a US sub-contractor to make sure it has semblance of order and no Western hating terrorist groups with ummah chumma dreams take root in Afghanistan. As long as Pakistan can do that it will be "thank you Pakistan" followed by US pullout with a annual sub-contractor fee or grant to cover the cost of Pakisan duty.

A great transaction for both Pak and USA. For 100th of the cost of what they are spending now they will have a more benign Afghanistan. Pakistan get's to see India's influence in Kabul purged. win win for all.

I am not given to bluster but honestly guys we are seeing seminal event take place. The rise of Pakistan and acceptance of Pakistan by USA as a regional power and a consequent reduction in Indian shadow. This is NOT saying that India is not going to be a US strategic partner. It will be. But Washington has understood that whilast India is huge Pakistan cannot be ignored either. It has certain punch and that will have to be accomodated. In a sense this is acceptance by USA that Pakistan is imporant nation in the region which cannot be ignored and it's importance will increase even more as we move forward.

The two are not comparative. Pakistan fcuked up. This is where misplaced pride and incompetence coming together in our leadership made the problem even worse. Bitching like kids over having failed to catch OBL themselves our leadership then lie kid who has failed to grab the lolly threw a siis fit to cover up their own incompetence. Instead of Afridi being arrested the bigger issue should have been how did ISI fail to catch OBL? And heads at ISI, IB etc should have rolled including interior minister. But instead all the angst was taken out on this Afridi guy.
