Well it actually does, it reflects on the investment environment in pakistan, it affects how much foreign investment can come in, at what rates / conditions etc. Analysts do take notice.

On the other hand, no reports make any difference to the common man, good times, bad times, the common man always suffers in our countries.

College violence: 2 policemen, principal suspended in Chennai​

Chennai, November 13: Police Commissioner R Sekhar was on Thursday night removed with the Tamil Nadu government cracking the whip after his force was accused of inaction during violent student clashes in Dr Ambedkar Law College while two police officers and the institution's Principal were suspended.

DGP(Civil supplies) K Radhakrishnan is the new Police Commissioner after Sekhar was trasnferred, official sources said, adding orders in this regard were being issued, a day after violence in the college in which three students were seriously injured.

As the DMK government faced the heat after coming under attack from the opposition in the state Assembly for alleged failure to tackle the violence, an Assistant Commissioner of Police Narayanamurthy and Inspector Sekar Babu were suspended while four sub-inspectors were shifted out of the City.

Former chief minister and AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa demanded the resignation of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, who holds the Home portfolio.

The seven arrested students have been booked under various IPC sections including 307 (attempt to murder) and remanded to custody. TV grabs showed a couple of students being brutally attacked amid reports that police remained mute spectators.

Law Minister Duraimurugan told the Assembly that Law College Principal Sridev has been placed under suspension while the ongoing semester exams were postponed as there was no ‘cordial atmosphere’ to conduct them right now.

All law colleges in Tamil Nadu have been closed to avoid any untoward incident, he said.

Duraimurugan while replying to a call attention motion in the Assembly announced setting up of a commission to probe the incident.

The incident also had violent fallout in Coimbatore when students threw stones and damaged furniture and windows of the Law College. About 60 students were arrested, police said.

If you look at the video you will see that the police stood by, whilst in front of them 2 students were being severely beaten. These are clearly Muslim, and that is the only reason why the police did nothing. Unless of course the police in India hate a small faction of law students? Moreover, your article does not deny that these were Muslim.

The police did exactly the same thing in Gujarat. The United States Department of State in its International Religious Freedom Report 2003 commented on the episode, based on this report by USCIRF:

“ India's National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), an official body, found evidence in the killings of premeditation by members of Hindu extremist groups; complicity by Gujarat state government officials; and police inaction in the midst of attacks on Muslims. The NHRC also noted "widespread reports and allegations of well-organized persons, armed with mobile telephones and addresses, singling out certain homes and properties for death and destruction in certain districts-sometimes within view of police stations and personnel," suggesting the attacks may have been planned in advance. Christians were also victims in Gujarat, and many churches were destroyed. "

I do agree with you here. Gujarat cops did not take any action in the deplorable incidents, at times even taking part in it themselves. It should NOT have happened. Its been well documented and and condemned. Many face prosecution and got stiff sentences. Those involved will be punished.
