Pakistan all set to import electricity from India

Just watch.
In a couple of years after the negative list is pulled down, India will be exporting Oil, Diesel and Gas to Pakistan along with other Petro products.

Though you should know India is one of the largest exporters of refined oil and petro products. Reliance refinery Jamnagar IIRC is the worlds largest 'export only' refinery.
Ooooooooooooooo. Reliance it is. :D

my friend.. connectivity doesn't ensure unlimited seamless transmission ! Research a bit on the requirements first .. we need UHV lines of connectivity between each regional grids to make it a fully functional centralized national one. Work has started on it between Wardha and Aurangabad but not fully rolled out yet !
Raichur - Sholapur is a S/C 765 kV which can wheel around 2000 MW taking the total capacity to nearly 3500 MW (can't remember the exact figure)

ABB is still testing the 1200 HVDC equipment at Bina. But the Biswanath Chariyali - Agra 800 HVDC Bi-pole will be up and running by March 2015.

Export? We ourselves are in shortage of these unlike Electricity.
Never knew we were short on refining capacity.Don't we export petrochemical products worth 30-40 Billion each year :undecided:

Heard Ambanis and Ruia's were busy expanding their refining capacity.

.
We do as a matter of fact have a Single Power Grid friend :D

It is now one of the worlds largest grids.

Then why are there so many power outages in the South? Bangalore regularly experiences Load shedding to the tune of 2-3 hours everyday during Summer, while in the rural areas it's much worse.

No idea.
What I do know is that the link between the Northern and Southern grid is low capacity yet. It will be enhanced in the next few years.

Mind you, It isn't free

The smile this electricity will bring on the face of little Rafiq somewhere in Pakistan.....PRICELESS!!

There are a few things money can't buy....!!

:D:D

This is all good, but what about when our rural areas have to endure 6-8 hours of power cuts in Summer months? Our cities aren't spared either many a time. Are we really producing more electricity than we consume?
States bordering Pakistan are energy surplus states and its easier and cheaper to sell electricity to Pakistan than energy deficient states like Bihar.

Ofc they do .. but we need the 1200KV UHVAC lines of conenctivity between the regional grid hubs. 750KV HVAC are good but they wont make the cut.

Actually, the UHVAC lines is what is stopping India from going full steam with its power projects in NE

I personally think it would be good for the region. I wish Modi comes into power, economic ties will see a revolution, as Pak has already decided to give MFN status to India soon after the election. There will always be phobes , who will try to create confusion but I guess the leadership has realized that the only way forward is peace and economic ties. If Europe can collaborate , why cant South Asia, with numerous resources, hard working work force and great potential. The next decade belongs to this region, the people of this region deserve a better living. Enough with Wars and hatred.

P.S: Pak should take advantage of strong Indian economy. India is a major power in the region, and will grow in strength in future.
