Pakistan airspace closure bleeding Air India

Based upon imaginary figures merely that Indian News has to share to downplay the loss of India.
How is it imaginary?
FlightRadar24 data itself shows that there has been a reduction of 418 daily transit flights through Pak airspace in June 2019 in comparison to Jan 2019.

Each transit flight used to pay atleast $580 ($920 for wide aisle jets) as charges which means $230,000 loss from overhead charges per day alone.

Each day there were used to be 400 flights from SE Asia & Europe & vice versa all of which now flyover India and then Arabian sea instead of Pakistan.

Earlier the same creatures were gloating that fearing an attack from India, Pakistan closed it's airspace.
As if any country requires permission to attack other.

How does it become the loss as compare to Air India looking for another bailout package while employees are planning to go on strike once again. Pakistan closed corridor next to India thus flights are now taking bit longer route but that is nothing as compare to Indian hardship or almost total loss of traffic. Do we see anyone from Pakistani media or any reputable international source quoting Pakistan in trouble for such situation? In fact, India is hurt more or if to go by your logic, India should be happy with such loss of Pakistan. We are already a troubled economy, none knows better than India, and shouldn't be able to sustain such loss. Those flights were suppose to pay India more by using Pakistani air space.

The result of internet dependency and believing too much into whatever bollywood says.

Air India requires bailout packages
every year.
Nothing new this year.
Air India has been dependent on government bailouts since 2011.
Air India employees carry out couple of strikes every year.

Pakistan media itself reported $20 million losses after 3 weeks of airspace closure.

There is always a price for the strategical games... By that kind of loss, as Indian Sources are trying to gloat about, it seems Pakistan can pay more than India for security.

Furthermore, read carefully about what is really going on in regard to Indian losses due to air space closure by Pakistan and that reading shouldn't be based upon nationalism.

Airspace ban cost Air India ₹490 crore
SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT

NEW DELHI, JULY 04, 2019 00:50 IST
UPDATED: JULY 04, 2019 00:50 IST

It’s up to Islamabad to revoke its unilateral decision, says govt.

Air India incurred a loss of ₹491 crore due to the closure of Pakistani airspace, the government said on Wednesday adding it was a unilateral decision taken by the neighbouring country and it was up to it to revoke the ban.

The loss suffered by Air India between February 27, when Pakistan imposed the ban, and July 2 translates into a daily loss of ₹3.8 crore.

Indian carriers collectively suffered a loss of ₹548.93 crore, according to data provided by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri in the Rajya Sabha.

SpiceJet suffered a loss of ₹30.73 and Go Air ₹2.1 crore until June 20. IndiGo saw a loss of ₹25.1 crore until May 31.

The large size of loss incurred by Air India is mainly on account of its long-haul flights to Europe and the U.S. which had to take a detour via the Oman airspace with an additional technical halt for refuelling, adding at least two hours to its flights leading to an additional fuel burn.

Asked if India was planning to resolve the issue through diplomacy, Mr. Puri said: “The airspace closure by Pakistan is a unilateral measure that followed the non-military counter terrorism air strike by the Indian Air Force against terror camp in Balakot, Pakistan in February, 2019. It is for Pakistan to decide.”

Pakistan lifted the ban for most airlines but not on flights entering from its eastern border and via India. Last week, it again extended the ban up to July 12.

IMO, it is stupidity to allow any indian airlines to pass over Pakistan.---- Result - killing indian airlines.

And it is equally stupid to not allow non Indian airlines. ---- Result - financial losses on Pakistan.

Open the airways for all airlines except indian airlines, killing them out of business.

Yes he is right since what did the poor trees and the innocent crow has to do with military. :)

This minister is a Sardar. So, may be, he gave this statement at sharp 1200 Hours.

.
Must ban India origin airlines from crossing Pakistan on a permanent basis. Make them pay for terror and aggression they commit against Pakistan.

.
That's the most economic way to fight regional terrorism. Just simply stop subsidizing transit of Indian goods through Pakistan. Close your air-space and even your waters.
India will stop talking of war... and will never even dream to threat us.

NEW DELHI: Closure of Pakistan airspace has cost Air India and other Indian airlines dearly. The national carrier has lost nearly Rs 491 crore due to the closure since the end of February. Other private carriers including SpiceJet, Indigo and other airlines have also witnessed losses on this account.

Pakistan had closed its airspace following an aerial engagement along the Line of Control on February 27 in the wake of a suicide attack by the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) that killed 40 Indian jawans in Pulwama.
The closure of the air space has led to longer routes and enhanced flight timing as airlines have no option but to bypass Pakistan airspace. According to an official, this led to rise in fuel expenses, operational costs and maintenance costs and also higher duty hours for aircrew.

On June 28, Pakistan extended the ban on its eastern airspace until July 12.
An Air India official said on an average the national carrier is losing nearly `6 crore every day. Sources claimed that the national carrier has now written to the International
Air Transport Association (IATA) seeking help.
Debt ridden Air India has incurred a loss of `7,635 crore in 2018-19, which is the highest in last five financial years. This is despite the constant capital infusion by the government— nearly `17,000 crore in the last five years.

After the ban, aircraft are forced to take detours and officials said this is mainly affecting flights to Europe, the US and some other countries.
Recently, Pakistan gave special permission to PM Narendra Modi’s VVIP flight to use its airspace for his official trip to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
However, Modi’s flight avoided flying over Pakistan.

Air india may shut down very soon if they continue to suffer losses as they will only have money for the staff till october .Ban the air space permanently .We do not get anything from India .Jet air ways already shut down its operations and now time to close this air line too.
