PAKISTAN AIR FORCE OPERATIONALISES WING LOONG II UCAV

. . .
They're garbage. Range is limited to a few hundred kilometers at best. They're only good for certain operations and that's it.

There is a good reason why PA is going for long range Chinese drones.
What happened to Pakistans indigenous MALE and HALE drones?

. .
Now we won't ever see them in Action, Anyone remembers long long long time ago we also tested and Operationalize CH-4? Foot Soldiers will be sent to their deaths in KPK and Balochistan while Generals will do nothing but do mazammat from their DHA homes.

.
Pakistan is adopting drone technology gradually due to administrative and technical issues. We cannot switch the job of maritime aircrafts and CAP aircraft pilots straightaway. Induction of drones will take a generation to complete.

Pakistan will keep using both conventional and unmanned aircrafts for every kind of roles. PAF is not going to completely give the high risk attack roles to drones. But we should induct maritime patrol UAVs to save the money and reserve the stamina.

.
Why not Turkish. And why Chinese

because defense procurement process is very stringent and PA/PAF trial equipment in the most extreme situations /scenarios

the idea is to go for the best suited /cost economical and reliable / fit for purpose equipment

there is no national preference whatsoever

if PAF went for WL2 UAV over Turkish system, they have their reasons

Hmmm....thought provoking and death invoking

In addition to @Dalit , the maturity of technology. We have been chasing a credible UCAV for more then a decade now. Sensitive technology like this takes time to develop and mature.

We need these assets up in the air in Balochistan and FATA.
In Baluchistan and FATA, for what ?

. . .
for patrolling/policing/ to detect intruders and terrorist hideouts etc etc
Air surveillance against your own people is always a challenging task. Insurgents dont look different form civilians when viewed from top by UAV.
Remember, how many civilians killed by drone attacks by US in Afghanistan ?
