Pakistan Air Force a 'role model' for others: ACM Sohail Aman

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman on Saturday said Pakistan’s anti-terrorism strategy is a “role model for others” and plays a ”pivotal role” in dealing with conventional threats and non-state actors.

Addressing the seventh Dubai International Air Chiefs Conference in Dubai, he asserted that Pakistan’s anti-terrorism strategy is not only vital in counter-acting threats, but also a role model for others, according to Radio Pakistan.

In its many anti-terrorism operations, the air chief marshal further asserted the air force has avoided collateral damage on many occasions.

Earlier, Pakistan military was ranked as the 11th strongest military in the world, as per a Credit Suisse report on globalisation.

Ranked seven spots after India’s military, the report gave Pakistan a final military strength score of 0.41. The report also revealed that Pakistan’s active personnel number stands at 710,000 and has it more weaponry than Germany, Australia, and Canada.

India is obviously more powerful, Considering the numbers and amount of planes with great tech.

But Israels Airforce ranks more technologically considering they have the most sophisticated tech from the US.

These online mags and their lists! Seriously! Airforce is not just about number of planes and type of planes. This is not to say PAF is very strong these days but still it is a good Airforce with years of character and maturity, you can give a country all the best planes and that won't still make it a very good airforce but give Pakistan modest number of few more quality planes and you have a force to reckon with!
Most of us do not appreciate this but some credit of having good professional Military Forces goes to British origins of our forces however this is not to say people of sub continent wouldn't have made good soldiers without them. The services of Indian forces in WWs speaks of good sound soldiering skills of people here.

I would not agree with that.

In the past, yes the IDAF had a significant technological edge over the IAF but ever since the introduction of Phalcons and MKI's, i would argue the IAF has closed that gap. IAF has done a remarkable job of procuring technologies from multiple vendors and mashing it in their doctrine. The IDAF on the other hand has stuck to American and Local technology. There is no technological edge the F16's and F15's that IDAF operates have over the SU30MKI.

But than again, it all comes down to threat perception. The threats that India faces in the form of China and Pakistan far exceed that of what Israel faces.
