Pakistan ahead of India in arms race

.
I believe its just one of india's propaganda campaign justifing itself to increase its arms purchase. Recently india fired its first anti ballistic system, which would for sure create a military disbalance in the SA leading towards another arms race.

.
Thats rubish to me we are ahead of every one in Purchasing of ARMS in the WORLD..

Can any one belive this .

.
BS! Pakistan's $5.1 billion against Indian $3.5 billion? What about the MRCA, P-8, additional Awacs and numerous other deals that are pending?

.
Just part of the propaganda to show the world that India is being forced to buy and Pakistan is the aggressor.
See this is where we need our media to counter this instead those idiots are busy at home trying to play political Bitches.

.
It really does not matter who is ahead of who.

These are all stuff aimed at spurring the govt to act as also in support of arms companies.

The military and the govt knows what is required.

Neo, this is old news. And this is not an Indian news channel proclamation, the US congressional report stated that. So dont BS the report.

Secondarily, all those things you mentioned have NOT YET been signed. They are as of now, proposals, only deals that were signed were included. And in that Pakistan was much ahead.

Thirdly, most of the money was from US grants itself, not Pakistan's own money. Expect these things to change with the new proposals and US money reducing in Pakistan.

No biggie either way...

. .
If you look at it just for this past year then Pakistan would be ahead. But India may place several huge orders next year which would make the 2007 purchases by Pakistan look insignificant.

By the way, CRS does an annual study...so its fairly easy to exploit the numbers based on the single year, when a trended study over a decade would be more appropriate.

.
Well, there's no way Pakistan can or is keeping up with India in military spending or quantity. But where it lacks in volume to India, Pakistan makes up for in other areas..For example average quality of a foot soldiers is 7:1 in Pakistan's favour, fighting spirit, mental grit, and so on. Psychological advantage seems to make up for billions lost in military spending to India.

. .
propaganda news, Indian purchases are too high..

.
The report if we look at it closely only said in 2006 Pakistan was ahead of India as far as buying arms is considered. But over all India still has more weapons then Pakistan.

Oh, i had forgotten to mention this as well. Its actually 10:1 in Pakistan's favour. Escaped my mind to say that 1 Pakistani soldier=10 Indian soldiers!:agree:

Yaar lets refrain from posting stuff that cannot be proven, factual or lacking reference. Its all a matter of perception. The other side believes otherwise and so do many in Pakistan. ;)

My own take on this quality issue is something that can be gleaned from the world of sports. Some times they win (being the better side) and sometimes we win. I do not see training wise why the two Armies would be any different.

Also by posting something such as the above, you have made it very easy for the thread to get derailed. So lets be careful about making such claims when you cannot back it and then in the end, all of the Pakistanis get a bad name for such ridiculous comments. I had been discussing this nasty 1:10 slogan on other threads suggesting that even within the Army there is no one going around suggesting this at an institutional level (personal views of a few cannot be representative of the entire institution and even if they are voiced then its sheer stupidity and fairly unprofessional assesment), so lets avoid such claims.

Thanks ;)
