PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan feels India must fulfill its promise of 'rewarding' Pakistan for its support for the 'Big Three' governance system introduced in the International Cricket Council (ICC) last year.

Khan told reporters at a function in Karachi that Pakistan had its own reasons for supporting the 'Big Three' governance system but one of them was that it would eventually lead to restoration of bilateral ties with India.

"It is true that we agreed to the 'Big Three' system after the Indian cricket board promised us it would renew cricketing ties with us and they eventually also signed the MOU with us to play six series between 2015 and 2023," the PCB chief said. Asked if the MOU was a sort of reward for supporting the 'Big Three', Khan admitted one could put it that way.

"We want the BCCI to honor its commitment made to us through the MOU and I am still optimistic the series could happen eventually," he said.

Under the MoU the first series between the two countries is scheduled in December this year and Pakistan as the hosts plan to have the two Tests, five ODIs and a T20 match at venues in the UAE.

So far the BCCI has not confirmed the series insisting they require government clearance to do this. To another question, Shaharyar Khan said he would not feel betrayed if India didn't honor its commitment laid out in the MoU.

"Restoration of bilateral cricket ties with India was one of the main reasons for signing the 'Big Three' document but we had our other compulsions as well to support the 'Big Three' governance system."

The PCB has already sent a letter to the BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur this week asking him to confirm the series as soon as possible as time is running out to prepare for the matches.

Under the 'Big Three' system of governance the control of world cricket was effectively handed over to India, England and Australia. India has avoided playing Pakistan in a full bilateral series since 2007, the last time the two countries played a Test match.

If there is ever an indicator of how genuine a country is and willingness to make peace, at the very least they will play sports.

India is not showing this. Its huge red light. Pakistan should pull diplomatic mission from India. I see only dead ends to continue to pursue talks at the moment.

It shows pakistan is really dying for a bilateral series with india that they also agreed for big 3 dominance in return of a bilateral series with india.

Well thats pakistani POV, indian stand is quite clear that sports and terrorism cant go hand in hand. Unless pakistan shows some movement in mumbai attacks case there is no question of resumption of sporting ties.

Pakistan is welcome to do that. Indian sikhs and hindus might not get visas to visit shrines in pakistan but other than that it is ok but extreme step diplomatically . Personally I dont want India to have any ties with pakistan, India has nothing to gain whatsoever.

But on the flop side , how would they pally with hurriyat if you dont have mission in india.:p:.

To the best of my knowledge big three was happening with or without Pakistan. Pakistan is trying to make a virtue out of a necessity.

And Pakiatan beleived whatever false promises India made?
I wont beleive India if they say sky is blue.

PCB is strong till India is playing cricket with them. If India is not playing with them , they becomes like jobless. 'Big three' is already there with or without Pakistan. Lol

India is just crying child. Why limit it to just cricket and for your information our cricket team have been visited India after 26/11 in 2012/2013 and then kabadi, hockey and others sports are being played without bringing 26/11 and even Pakistani artist/singers are being invited in there but they bring 26/11 when talk about cricket so you guys are confused. If you did not wanted series then why promised it earlier

New Delhi, Sep 8: PCB chief Shahryar Khan has asserted that Pakistan cricket in past few years has survived without playing India and it will continue to survive in case the BCCI backs out of the series slated to be held in the UAE in December. The PCB and BCCI has signed an MoU to play six series between 2015 and 2023. However PCB is yet to get the Indian board's response on its letter last week, asking them to honour the 'binding agreement'.

Dhaka: Pakistan reached the final of the ICRC Twenty20 Cricket Tournament for the physically challenged after defeating arch-rivals India by 44 runs.

Sent in to bat after losing the toss at BKSP Ground 4 here on Monday, Pakistan piled up a huge 174/6. Opening batsman Hasnain Alam was the highest scorer for Pakistan with 39 followed by Rehan Ghani with 34. Dansih also chipped in with valuable 26, reports bdnews24.com.

Indian skipper Dinesh Kumar bagged two wickets giving away 17 runs.

Chasing the mammoth total, India were all out for 131 in 19 overs. Fyaz Ahmed picked up a hat-trick to fashion Pakistan's third victory in the tournament. In the last three balls of the 19th over, he got successive wickets to finish with figures of 4/14.

For India, Yash Negi (26) and Ansul (24) put up some resistance against the impressive Pakistani attack, but in vain.

Along with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Bangladesh's sports ministry and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are organising the tournament.

And India did try renewal of ties but pakistan's political masters and its all strong army spoiled the chances. As Pakistan government keep on saying that without resolving Kashmir nothing can happen between the two then why the PCB is not loyal to their government and bypassing them and asking India to show mercy to them by having cricket ties with them?

And Pakiatan beleived whatever false promises India made?
I wont beleive India if they say sky is blue.
But why they asking India to promise anything as your government stand is very clear to discuss Kashmir first and then anything. Why PCB is defying their government;s stand?
