Pakistan again under pressure to join Saudi coalition

This time around Pakistan will collaborate.

It was Pakistani and Turkish initiative to hold peace talks and let diplomacy have a chance.

Diplomacy and talks have gone to hell now with the failure evident.

Pakistan will have to come around.

Why should Pakistan join?

Its a huge failure of PMLN govt. Fine they did not send army at Saudi demand but they also did nothing diplomatically. On diplomatic front, they are so non serious they dont even have a foreign minister but two foreign affairs advisers jostling for power to appease the king ( I mean PM Sharif).

Even if Saudi insist, we should not send our army. Why dont they understand if they claim to be our friends? We cant send our army. We are fighting on home front, a more important war than any for a foreign country.

No way. We are not going to get involved in Yemen.

That idiot Nawaz Sharif has kept Foreign Affairs portfolio with himself when Pakistan needs full time Foreign Minister.

Hi,

Who started the stupidity by showing ignorant comment to my post, without properly reading what i wrote.
Don't quote me next time if you are not going to discuss the topic, I am not interested in scoring brownie points with anyone here.

Hi,

I go back to my old post---. Pakistan should realize that they screwed up the first time by not going---. If they had sent in 50,000 troops with the paraphernalia----there would have been peace in Yemen by now and a lot less killings----.

Plus they would have had funds to create more divisions and procure more accessories.

US also planned short campaign in Vietnam with full victory in few months. Read history first !

Off topic- but I am totally surprised by how much grievance everyday Pakistani have ( at least on PDF) to Saudi. I don't think the Saudis, in their arrogance, realize that people have so much complaints against them. They need to suck it up and improve their image in the world. The days of high oil prices are numbered.
Totally wrong.?PDF doesn't reflect an average Pakistani.. Pakistanis Here are somewhat liberal, open minded, english educated, some are living in the west...an average Pakistani still would be willing to die for Saudi.

No, actually. Most average Pakistanis who are aware of what goes on have an equal amount of grievances with the Saudis. It has nothing to do with being liberal or open-minded, just with being informed. Very few people follow the religious parties that are pro-Saudi.

That doesn't mean, of course, that the rest of us are 'anti-Saudi'. We oppose some of their policies but recognize their occasional help, yet this doesn't make us want to fight and die for them.

Maybe, I wouldn't know....but again my gut is that they are not such pushovers anymore. I would think the leadership, both political and army would be very interested in helping Saudi due to obvious reasons, the only thing preventing them is public opinion of the everyday Pakistani who does not want his countrymen to go and die for Saudi.

I think saudi will put in huge effort now to try to change public opinion in Pak. The Saudi religious head has already visited, the message will be going out to madrasahs etc that the holy land needs them.... Let's wait and see... But I think you are wrong, Pak public are not with Saudi on this YET.

Wishful thinking. I always hear that crap about 'internal Arab affairs'. Go fix your fking internal affairs then. Don't beg for others help. You're already helped enought by foreign pilots and US intelligence. If you still can't do it, it really proves how subhuman the Saudi's really are.

Yeah, Pakistan is Saudi's personal little UN right? To hell with all the Pakistani parents who get their children back in boxes. The Saudi's wish is Pakistan's command?

Hi,
Please don't bring Sunni Shia into this, we have suffered enough because of this rift. Nations have faced devastation because of this, I don't want Pakistan to go down the same way, in fact I don't want Pakistan to go down at all.

Listen Saudi, why don't you openly admit you see the Pakistanis as slaves? Shia? So a Sunni would applaud Pakistan to go fight a war other people started? All the while the country isn't the most healthy itself?

Bhai, this is the month of mercy so tone down the insults. Your insults are extremely repulsive. They are from the descendents of the Prophet as'salathu was'salaam and as'haab radi'Allahu anhum. Why insult their lineage? The ordinary Arabs of Haramain-sharifain are fierce fighters. They are NOT cowards; their graves all over the world from Bosnia to Chechnya are witness to this. Just because they refuse to fight for House of Al-Saud does not make them cowards. They are Islamically knowledgeable brothers and know the outcome in the hereafter dying for the ''Saud'' Government.
