Islamabad, Nov 25,2012 (IANS)
A proposed ban on motorbikes, suspension of cell phone services and other such measures the government has adopted to combat terror "simply amount to the absurd", said a Pakistani daily Sunday.

An editorial in the News International said that for the fifth time this year, the country has been thrown into a state of disarray with cellular phone services blocked in at least 49 cities across the country and, in some cases, internet services also affected.

"To add to the confusion, cell phone networks continued to operate in Peshawar on the provincial government’s request for the most time on Saturday," it said.

The daily said the actual shutdown "still comes as something of a shock for the millions dependent on mobile phones or internet-based services for all kinds of social and professional activities".

It referred to Interior Minister Rehman Malik as saying that 90 percent of bomb blasts are caused by remote control devices activated by cell phones, and also that these services are used by terrorists for communication purposes.

"There is no way of knowing how far this claim is true," said the editorial. Despite the ban, Saturday saw a procession in Dera Ismail Khan targeted by an IED blast, killing at least seven people.

"Clearly the cell phone shutdown did not affect the terrorists, leading to scepticism regarding the deterrent value of the bizarre bans the government seems to consider counter-terrorism efforts. It would be safe to assume too that the suicide blasts we have seen in the past are planned well in advance and can be carried out even if extremist forces are deprived of their mobile phones," said the daily.

The editorial went on to say that citizens who have no mala fide purposes in mind are being "punished for no fault of theirs".

"It is necessary we now deal with this situation using logic and pragmatism, putting matters into perspective. There have to be other ways to deal with terrorism.

"The proposed ban on motorbikes, suspension of cell phone services and other such measures the government has adopted simply amount to the absurd.

There is no reason why the people of the country should suffer because the government cannot control terrorism," it stressed.

The core of Pakistani terrori funding lies in forigen aid and lack of formal education system - a gap being exploited by madrassas.
Close madrassas and hang the clerics to solve terrorism problem.

This is what they teach in madrassas!

Real Jamati power which is brainwashing every kid silently with stupid stories and fabricates tales glorifying jehad!

In Islamic education very precious and important literature is added by Jamaat. Literature deals with economy, Issues of Islamic World, Islamic Fiqa and Laws and problems faced by Islamic movements. The book of Maulana Maududi about Riba is the only literature available for the topic in 1955. In Economic Conference held in Makkah in 1990 Dr Nijat Ullah Siidique presented a list and introduction of 700 books related to Riba. Institute of Policy Studies, Idara Marif-e-Islami Lahore, Islamic Research Academy Karachi, Idara Taleemi Tehqeeq Lahore, Mehran Academy, Institute of Regional Studies are working independently but with intellectual harmony with Jamaat. There weekly and monthly publications, newsletters, Research reports deal with the solutions of theoretical and practical issues facing by Islamists. Other than that advanced organizations like Idara Tarjumanul Quran Lahore, Islamic Publications Lahore, Al-Badar Publications Lahore, Idara-ul-Hasnaat Lahore, Idara Matboaat-e-Tulba Lahore, Hira Publications Lahore, Manshoorat Mansoorah Lahore and Idara Matboaat-e-Kashmir Rawalpindi are also publishing wide range of Islamic Literature. These organizations are also translating the literature in different languages of the world. According to the annual report of Islamic Publications Lahore in 1996, Publisher sold the books of 8.4 million rupees out of which books of 3.3 million are sent abroad. Similarly Tehriq-e-Mehnat distributed the books worth 3.2 million in 1996 and 4593 sets of Tafhim al-Qur'an are sold. Magazines and digests are also the source of preaching and conveying ideological messages. These magazines are also the source of understanding Islam, knowing Islamic movements and their needs, setting preferences for quest and struggle. Monthly publications include Tarjuman-ul Quran, Monthly Aain, Jareedaul Ittehad, Afkar-e-Mualam, Hamqadam, Mashqaat, Al-Misbah, Nida-e-Kisan, Pukar, Milli Naveed-e-Saher, Islam aur Esaiyat, Wasti Asia k Musalmaan, weekly Asia, Jisarat Friday Special and 15 days Jihad-e-Kashmir are the interpreter of revolutionary thinking of Jamaat. More than one lac copies of children books are published. Pegham, Saathi, Mujahid, Bazm-e-Quran, Noor, Chandnagar are very famous among those. For females Al-Hasnaat and Khawateen Magzine are configured keeping in mind the latest needs of them.

In the beginning of the struggle for the state of Pakistan, Maududi and his party criticized other leaders of the Muslim League for wanting Pakistan to be a state for Muslims and not as an Islamic state. After realizing that India was going to be partitioned and Pakistan created, he began the struggle to make Pakistan an Islamic state. Maududi moved to Pakistan in 1947 and worked to turn it into an Islamic state, resulting in frequent arrests and long periods of incarceration. In 1953, he and the JI led a campaign against the Ahmadiyya community in Pakistan resulting in the Lahore riots of 1953 and selective declaration of martial law.[9] He was arrested by the military deployment headed by Lieutenant General Azam Khan, which also included Rahimuddin Khan, and sentenced to death on the charge of writing a propaganda pamphlet about the Ahmadiyya issue. He turned down the opportunity to file a petition for mercy, expressing a preference for death rather than seeking clemency. Strong public pressure ultimately convinced the government to commute his death sentence to life imprisonment. Eventually, his sentence was annulled.[10]

Stupid Abo Alaa al Lanti first opposed the creation of Pakistan then wanted to turn it into Islamic state - Quaid never made promise to build any kind of Taliban state.

After the creation of Pakistan in 1947, there were a series of Maulana’s lectures on different systems of Islam, which were broadcast from Radio Pakistan, Lahore. These lectures commenced in January 1948 and continued up to July 6, 1948. From the outset he kept on reminding the leadership to fulfill the promises made to the nation for establishing an Islamic order, and for this purpose a declaration of the objectives of the state in the legal and constitutional form was of paramount importance. In short, he mobilized his efforts on the establishment of a truly Islamic State and society in the country. For that matter he opposed and criticized the policies pursued by the successive governments of Pakistan. As a result he was arrested time and again and put into jail for long periods. It was due to the efforts of Maulana Maududi and his Jamaat that the Objectives Resolution was passed on March 12, 1949. It was also in accord with the Jamaat’s demand that the Objectives Resolution was incorporated in the Constitution as Preamble.
