He fired them all at once and banned all of them for the rest of their lives from govt. services. The saga did not stop there. A federal judge fined the ATC union 1 million dollars per day for each of lost work day and in the mean time the military manned the towers until the non-union controllers could be brought in. Before too long all airports started operating normally and the fired ATC came to their senses very quickly, however it was too little and too late. But those leaders were true to their country who put their country's interests above their personal gains and did not have my way or highway attitudes.
