What's new

Pakistan acquires another communication satellite

. .
What about military satellite?
It's multi-mission satellite - can be used in military for military purposes but It'll not be in Pakistan's complete control, so, again most likely uses are commercial data and broadcast. Regarding PRSS, funds availability is real issue and wouldn't be in orbit anytime soon unless we get more debt. In fact, instead of focusing on satellite itself we should focus on its application - despite having plenty of human resources we're most likely to source it from abroad - even knowledge on it purposes and software solutions and that is what worries me.

Satellites have orbits counted
as slots in space as well as in
frequencies so they don't bang
into each other and incur E-M
friendly fire.

China sold Pakistan that slot &
about gave the machine using it
because the 1B1R needs comms.

It's simple enough! Besides, China
can make more, lots 'n lotsa more.

Have a great day, Tay.

China sold Pakistan that slot
Pakistan didn't acquire slot but only satellite. It's on Pakistan's own slot and acquired satellite reached their only a month ago. Though for communication satellites spectrum allocation is real issue but for Pakistan it is underutilized as well. Pakistan even have more slots available for geo satellites and there are plans to fill them in next two decades by launch or in orbit delivery of PakSat-MM2, PakSat2.

PS: PakSat-MM1 is GEO Satellite.

You read that wrong, mate. The meaning was
that there is an exchange going on here. As
you implied, under use of these slots is bad.

Any use is preferable if possible. It protects
the armed forces as in many nations recently,
mil frequencies were sold to raise new money.

Had they been in use, it wouldn't have happened.

And so my image doesn't hurt as much, check
the beginning of that piece :
by securing a geostationary orbital slot along with previous frequency resources ensuring a continuous and expanding foothold
which is what I conveyed. China as a partner
benefits from it being active too, of course.
Underlined is the cooperation between the two.

Can't wait for PRS to be sending images BTW!

Have a great day, Tay

Milestone satellite project launched today with signing of contract for Pakistan’s Multi-Mission Satellite between CHEIC, China and SUPARCO, Pakistan. It is yet another success in development of Pakistan’s Space Programme.

Two years ago, contract was signed for launch of #Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1). In mid, 2018, PRSS-1 shall be launched along with Pakistan Technology Evaluation Satellite, completely designed by #SUPARCO engineers & scientists.

China to monitor CPEC projects with two sensing satellites
Reported by: `CT Report April 9, 2018

BEIJING: China is to launch two remote sensing satellites for Pakistan in June this year, according to the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALVT) website.

According to reports, the satellites are being launched to monitor the development of the $ 50 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

It will be the first international commercial launch for a Long March-2C rocket for around 18 years after it carried Motorola’s Iridium satellites into orbit in 1999.

The rocket will also carry the China-France Oceanography Satellite into space in September this year, CALVT said. The satellite will monitor ocean wind and waves. Long March-2C rockets are mainly used to send satellites into low Earth or Sun-synchronous orbits.

China’s state news agency Xinhua reported the rocket will also carry the China-France Oceanography satellite into space in September this year.

Earlier, China had also launched Pakistan’s communication satellite PAKSAT-1R back in 2011.

China and Pakistan had signed an agreement in 2016 for the launch of a special remote sensing satellite this year in 2018.

In April 2016, the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and the China Great Wall Industry Cooperation (CGWIC) signed an agreement for the development and launch of the ‘Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1) System’. Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, Ahsan Iqbal and CGWIC President, Yin Limping signed the agreement here on Wednesday.

It was underlined that Pakistan and China will use space technology to carry out planning and execution of development projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) more scientifically, and in this regard a satellite will be launched in June 2018.

We should just buy the international space station and do experiments on curing Indians from their dellusion

Stop propagating disinformation. China moved a communications satellite nearing the end of its life into a slot designated for Pakistan in order that Pakistan does not lose any more slots that IT ALREADY HAS. Pakistan which started with few slots in orbit lost a majority of them because it could not utilise them as per the space treaties. These are time bound slots. Use them or lose them.
China is doing Pakistan a favour by helping them retain the few slots left to them.
The satellite has little remaining actual value

Many of them are the same person- they actually thank themselves from multiple IDs; how pathetic do you have to be.

Russia should not have created a troll force for interfering in US election demographics; they should have just hired Indians who have nothing better to do all day and would have cost 1/10th.. although spelling bobs and vegan would have given them away.

HAHAHA :lol::lol:

Rs 4.7bn allotted for Suparco projects

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to reduce dependence on foreign satellites for civil and military purposes, Pakistan plans to launch an aggressive space programme during the next fiscal year by initiating several projects.

The budget of the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Organisation (Suparco) for the upcoming fiscal year 2018-19 is Rs 4.70 billion which includes Rs2.55bn for three new projects.

The funding includes allocation of Rs 1.35bn for Pakistan Multi-Mission Satellite (PakSat- MM1) and the country is also planning to establish Pakistan Space Centre in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad with the allocation of Rs1bn. The third project is establishment of Space Application Research Centre in Karachi with the budget of Rs 200 million in 2018-19.

The total cost of PakSat-MM1 is Rs27.57b n and that of the space centres is Rs26.91bn.

These projects are part of several ongoing and upcoming schemes to develop self-reliance capacity and reduce dependence on foreign satellites, mainly the US and French satellites for civil and military communications.

Analysts have stressed that advanced space programme is the need of time not only due to growing demand from the civil communications, including the GPS, mobile telephony and the internet but due to changing scenario in the region also.

“There are two unusual developments in the region effecting the strategic situation — first of all Pakistan has to keep an eye on Indian side and previously their programme had limited quality advancements but now the US has active cooperation with the Indian satellite programme,” Maria Sultan, a defence analyst said.

Not diificult to allocate

  • 3-4 Million for Sattelite purchase and release for Pakistan every budget , China has ample missiles going up in space and makes sense to send a sattelite every year till numbers reach 10 Sattelites

Pakistan should expand it's scope as follow

  • 3 Sattelites over Pakistan (1 Military)
  • 1 Over Asia
  • 1 Over Africa
  • 1 Over Europe
  • 1 Over South America
  • 1 Over North America
  • 1 Over East Asia

Renting Data usage for Hubble should be done (Suggested) rather then let that thing die into ocean , for poor nations we can expand astronomy in Pakistan if such projects are purchased for research. I believe Hubble is to be decomissioned and downed in upcoming years due to no need for it

There are always avenues to make $$ from Sales related to Sattelite services

I think such a move would enable easier TV , Radio , Banking world wide for Pakistan
Country to Country Banking and communication

May be the troll force was after all operating from sweat shops of Bangalore and Hydrabad..after all Trump made a lot of outsource workers unemployed..
