Pakistan accuses India of terror activities

Tuesday August 8, 10:11 AM

Islamabad, Aug 8 (IANS) Pakistan has alleged that the Indian consulate at Zahedan in Iran is involved in terrorist activities against Pakistan.

Quoting sources in the federal interior ministry, the Dawn newspaper said that Islamabad conveyed to Tehran its concern over the consulate's activities at a two-day joint working group meeting of the two countries held to discuss terrorism, border security, human trafficking and drug smuggling. The meeting took place in Iran last Thursday.

Pakistan has also been accusing India of using its embassy in Kabul and consulates in four Afghan cities for 'anti-Pakistan activities'.

Pakistan's delegation was headed by Interior Secretary Syed Kamal Shah.

According to the sources, the two sides decided that border field commanders and senior border commanders of Sistan and Balochistan provinces would hold monthly and quarterly meetings. If needed, they would also hold special meetings for prompt exchange of information and better coordination on matters relating to border security.

The sources said the two sides decided to take effective measures to check illegal movement of their citizens and those of other countries across their borders. They also decided to exchange information on human traffickers, besides identifying and arresting the agents responsible for the illegal practice.

They agreed to provide consular access to prisoners of the two countries and decided to hold the second session of the Joint Consular Committee in Tehran during the current month in order to resolve such issues. They also agreed to take effective measures to check smuggling of goods across the borders.

Reiterating the need to effectively combat drug trafficking, Pakistan and Iran emphasised the need for implementing previous agreements in this regard.

They agreed that information related to the movement of terrorists and smugglers, their hideouts and their activities would be exchanged through the authorities concerned.

They also agreed to add to the information contained in the lists of criminals already exchanged by the two countries, and take measures to locate and arrest them.

For closer cooperation in the field of security, a proposal for security agreement between the two countries was discussed, and it was decided that Iran's interior ministry would prepare a draft agreement for consideration of both the governments.

The two countries had identical views on the issue of terrorism and were cooperating with each other to tackle it jointly, the newspaper quoted sources in the interior ministry as saying.

You know... its about time Pakistan exposed india's terrorist activities to the world. The Iranians should kick out all RAW agents from its soil. Such activities are unacceptable to the peace process and confidence bulding measures between india and Pakistan.

We've been too modest in revealing terror activites financed by foreign eliments in the past.
It wouldn't hurt to change course and become more assertive in condemning foreign hand the same way we're being treated.

No.

One must expose all such activities.

Raptor,

You must take the lead!

I am sure Pakistan is looking up to you as the sole person who can do the job where all have failed!

Go, sic them, boy!
