Pak wants 50 Indian engines, Rlys says no

.
Here comes the perverted troll with his bs posts...

Thanks for no engines... we will buy 50 more frm GE where we r buying hundreds from them... 50 more wont make a big difference.

Pathetic troll.

What’s so perverted about his post? And if you had the options to exercise the purchase rights for the engines from GE in the first place, why are you approaching the GOI to lease them. Has this thought process not crossed your fickle mind in the first place? Why $$$$ since the Pakistani railways are so cash strapped they need to cut costs. Your posts are not even supported by a source that VALIDATES if there will be any follow on orders from GE to supply rail engines to Pakistan in the first place and you start talk about a follow on order.

Pakistan Railways temporarily closes 115 trains

ISLAMABAD: Due to a shortage of engines 115 trains have been temporarily closed by Pakistan Railways, Geo News reported.

President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned Railways officials to the Presidency on Tuesday in order to resolve this crisis.

Railways officials say that they will inform the president about the shortage of engines and the release of the relief package. Officials add that without the release of the package it will be difficult to keep trains running.

I would say this is a good decision by the railways and the decision is merely due to huge domestic demand. Pakistan
should ask US to aid them these locos, since the Chinese made ones were not for Pakistani conditions.

Cheers

Tomorrow Mr. Ghulam Bilour will also say that we need Indian Army to protect our borders too. We need to lease Indian Army for us.....
He is such a stupid traitor.

Previously, I thought India should but going by their total lack of skill (read how they handled Chinese engines) and also their track record of paying back loans it would be suicidal. All they will do is pass the blame on some one else, in this case the Indian made engines and just call them bad quality. I hope we stay far away from this deal.

May be they do a news special with Zaid Hamid as chief guest on how Indian locomotives are destroying Pakistani Railway.

WHy did Pakistan want India rail engines ahead of China?

Pakistan had ordred around 90 Railway engines from china in 2007 I guess, around 70 engins have broke down due to poor quality. Chinese quality after all. Now the pakistanis want Indian engines.

The collapse of Pakistan Railways – The Express Tribune

They imported from China ‘Group 1’ locomotives with axle load of 23 Tons per axle, although the limitation was 22 tons per axle. Similarly, orders were placed for ‘Group 3’ locomotives with loads of 19.3 tons – while the limitation was 17.5 tons per axle.
A special dispensation was issued by the Railways allowing their operation on sections where it could prove dangerous and this is still in force.
This has led to numerous accidents and loss of precious lives.
Trials conducted on Chinese Group 3 locomotives revealed that while their fuel consumption was higher the hauling power was much less than the specifications listed jointly by the manufacturers. Their performance was worse than the existing 30 to 40 year old locomotives.

The 64 Chinese locomotives, based on vintage Russian technology, had an additional impact for spare parts procurement valued at $15 million annually, making them the most expensive locomotives ever procured by Railways. Earlier, the annual allocation for maintenance and repair would never exceed $10 million for the total fleet of 530 locomotives.
More recently, in 2009-2010, an additional order for 75 brand new locomotives has been placed with the same Chinese middleman Dong Feng Trading House (DFTH) and Mishan Locomotives Works, the manufacturer. LD.

As if this was not enough, 200 passenger carriages at an exorbitant cost are also being procured, although the same could be manufactured by the factory in Islamabad with imported raw material.
Yet another major source of pilferage is the sub-standard manufacturing outsourced to local contractors – most of these firms owned by front men of senior officers. The Chemist and Metallurgical Centre, responsible for testing and analysing raw materials and spares, boasts obsolete equipment

India should develop new engines and improve manufacturing methods
joint development with other countries also should be encouraged like with US , Russia, South Korea

i agree China is ahead of India in railway.. they are installing very fast trains.. i don't deny it.
Pak brothers dont feel let down that India is not cooperative
India has more problems to deal with itself .. we don t want any additional burden

we are more worried that our railways is not improving for our own demands rather than about leasing it some others.

.
Mad weirdd...

But yeah, India can't lease 50 engines, especially if its only rolling out 200 a year, and trying to meet a goal requirment of 1,200 annually.

200 from each of the PSU.The total is 400 per year.Thats still only a third of the goal set for 2020.Can we make up withing about 8 years ?Lets see.............

.
When our own demands are not getting full-filled then how can we lease to others?

Simple logic!

.
We are waiting for Trains which are promised in union railway budjets.. not from this year.. from past year. surely, Indian Railways is in requirement of locos which their manufacturing facilities across the country fails to meet. in this aspect, renting(which is a bad idea) or sales to other nations can wait. however, IR has given priority to some like Bangladesh for their need of locos/dmus or rolling stocks if I'm not mistaken.
