Instead of complaining about the US, why don't you guys focus on exposing the likes of Hamid Gul to the Pakistani public. After all they are the cause of the current mayhem and suffering of civilians in Pakistan. As members here, you probably know a lot more about the history of these events than the average Pakistani- making these facts known to the Pakistani people may go a long way towards changing mindsets.
There is a very interesting discussion between Musharraf and Talat Masood in Carlotta Gaul's book (I know you guys don't trust her but she has clearly quoted Masood as telling her about this conversation and Masood doesn't deny it). In the conversation Masood (senior to Musharraf in the army but retired at the time) tells Musharraf that it was time Pakistan stops supporting both the Afghan Taliban and the Punjabi groups directed against India (read LeT). Musharraf agrees it's time to stop supporting the Afghan Taliban. On the India focused groups, he says, "Sir, you are becoming an apologist" "Yes, I think we should stop supporting the Taliban but we will continue supporting the jihadis in Kashmir". I believe this policy continues to this day.
By the way, Masood replied, "I am telling you from my experience it is not possible to compartmentalise the way you are talking".
