Pak to approach friendly countries to counter US's hardening stance

You would think China would take Pakistan's security situation in to consideration before investing billions of dollars, or least have the confidence that Pakistan can deal with the situation. All these operations Pakistan is undertaking to eliminate terrorism is geared towards creating an environment where China's investments can thrive. I will concede the point that such attacks can continue, but this is a risk China is willing to take.

Yes China would have factored the risk, but China never expected such a fearless India. Every passing month, India is becoming stronger, be it FDI, world support or border clashes. Before Modi every Gov.t has always asked America & Russia to intervene to defuse tensions with China. We were defensive, so China had never considered India as a threat. They had thought as long as they have 2 front attack fear neither they will dare to attack Pakistan nor China & the continuous nuclear black mail of Pakistan always kept India powerless, but you can see the offensive approach of India on both fronts, this was never ever expected by China. So they never perceived any stumbling block in their venture when CPEC started, but things have changed in last 3 years. Even Pakistan never expected such a fearless & offensive India. Even nuclear blackmails are not working.

I don't see peace between India and Pakistan anytime soon. Nor do I see any trading relationship. The bitterness between the two countries is real and runs deep.

True. But India is in a better position than Pakistan economically, militarily & diplomatically in the world. So India won't bend. I am not saying because I am an Indian. I am saying considering all factors. At-least India's economy is still holding & not going down yet, but Pakistan's is. And with everybody trying to strangle China, it's difficult to say in few years China can even continue & complete these projects

Pakistan always finds a way - it will this time too. Let's be honest - India, USA, Pakistan, China, Russia - all are using Afghanistan as some weird chessboard. Ideally, they should all work toward improving Afghanistan than playing their own interests there. But who will take the first step and bell the cat?

Good for Pakistan if it finds a way out. The world & politics is a chessboard. A layman like you or me can't change it. Even if Pakistan build a wall they can reduce infiltration but can't stop terror from Afghanistan, they will find some other way. As long as these terrorists are there available for money, nobody can change or stop terror. Yes, If you have a strong economy, you can to a large extent control lot of things. But as of now both Afghanistan & Pakistan is dependent countries. So what's the easy way out, go to the root of the problems & fix the root cause. Ask - Why is the tension, How did it start, where did it start, when did it start. & then address from there.

My posts are only to share my views, so people wake up & act rather than waste time here exchanging insults & hatreds. In the present developments, Pakistan is sure in a very vulnerable situation not India, they have to see what definite action which will bring peace & prosperity in the region.

Times of Islamabad might not be an authentic source, after all. Lets wait for more credible sources to confirm the same. What do you think is happening?

I'm just writing policy reflections.

China and Pakistan have to wonder whether or how USA will intervene in their conflicts against India. The strategic ambiguity is a show stopper.

If Kargil started today USA could supply 200 JDAMs which would end the war in 48 hours with a whole bunch of body bags going to pakistani villages.

The beauty of the whole situation is that USA has no soldiers defending India

People have opened more threads than the letters in Trump's speech. Why every news item be a separate thread?

Nothing will change unless the political establishment of Afghanistan decides to leave the 16/17th century behind. Despite having led their country to a complete disaster by unsuccessfully involving foreign powers to intervene on their behalf in territorial claims and to create political stability (initially the Soviets, today the US), they have not given up on the desire to establish a "greater afghanistan" based on the fact that centuries ago (prior to the rise of the Sikhs and Ranjit Singh, KPK was part of Afghanistan) which is why they refuse to recognize the border with Pakistan and even attempted to block Pakistan's entry into the UN. This obsession will lead them nowhere as Pakistan is a much more populous and powerful country. All it leads to is antagonizing one of if not its most powerful neighbour after China.

They need to learn from the Mexicans. Rather than claiming Texas and California based on the fact that centuries ago these were part of Mexico, the Mexicans decided to improve ties with the US and are today an OECD nation. Unfortunately I have no hopes for Afghanistan in the near future, as their current crop of leaders lack the will and popularity to take the difficult decisions for their nations greater good in the long run.

Traitors. That is the problem.

This is what jealousy and arrogance does, I hope Pakistan learns from their foul attitude.

According to me, your Rupee will drop to 110 by the turn of 2018 for sure.

How did you predicted this so accurately way back in August? Was it a wild guess or you really took into account the factor that Pakistan may ease its grip on the currency?

Back in August, dollar was 105 and it stayed 105 till the first week of December, only then the rupee devalued and dollar became 110 and it's 110 since then.

:-) I am a Financial Analyst. I analyze financial Markets. Wild guess or I can really predict future, you can decide. I am giving Crude oil & Euro forecast below. Track it. Anyway I can go wrong sometimes. But 80-90% cases I get it mostly right.

Crude is in a correction mode right now & is bound to go up again for the near term. According to me it can try max 57.40-57.20 area (though doubtful) on the lower side & should bottom out by mid of march max.

Crude Oil will reverse up again around end of March to 1st week of April & then head to a new high around 68.60-69.30 area before the end of April month, If I am not wrong. It can cross 70, but how far it can go & what could be the reversal top, little early to say.

So Petrol prices will be up again in April. Bad for the common man.

Eur/Usd can try between 1.2550 to 1.2650 before 16th of March this month, If I am not wrong. It will again come down from the highs to 1.2100-1.2050 levels by end of April :sniper:
