Pak slams French nuke reactor sales to India

NSG is legally non-binding so their opinion doesn't make any difference in the deal.

I'm not sure that the complaints I saw about the Sino-Pakistan nuclear deal, were motivated by things like the NSG, but rather more for geopolitical reasons (i.e. both countries are rivals to India). Just my opinion.

The nations who signed the NSG promised not the break the rules...India has a unanimous waiver from the NSG, Pakistan does not.

Like I said, the NSG legally non-binding. Case in point, the deal is going forward.

And I don't see any real efforts from the USA to stop it.

^^ That's because China is showing it to be a part of earlier deal in 2004 before it joined NSG. Otherwise world countries would have had issues with it considering Pakistan involvement in proliferation. China with its unilateral decision might ust push away other important countries in the region including some countries in the west.

Apart from these 2 reactors, try supplying more reactors to Pakistan you would see the reaction from US.

But China is a sovereign nation, it can decide on its own.

The point "legally binding" is tricky..any country can do what they want irrespective of the agreements they signed not just the NSG. You can of course take things to the ICJ..but again their judgements can be ignored.

China agreed to play by the rules of the NSG when she agreed to become a member. US cannot stop China from breaking the NSG agreements she signed.China will just break her own word to the international community. Instead of this China should do it the right way and bring Pakistan's case before the NSG and ask for a similar waiver.
