Pak Protests After DRDO Mentions K-15 As Ballistic

@sancho @Abingdonboy

Pls can you clarify as to what purpose these notifications serves when it comes to missile testings??

Why was there a need for such an agreement on the first place??

Also why was only Ballistic missiles were kept & why not notifications of cruise missiles??
Ballistic missiles are an inherent nuclear threat to the neighbor. If the other side detects a ballistic missile launch then it could lead to a retaliatory nuclear response. It is only logical to give a heads-up to the neighbor.

I was thinking about giving you the portfolio of Naswaree Space & Near Naswaristan Space Object Collision Warning & Interception (NSSNNSOCI) Ministership. However, after this serious goof-up, I'll keep you as Minister of Entertainment. :D

@Hyperion @Abingdonboy @ares @KRAIT

Mate, whats the problem in gaining additional knowledge?? I new things in bits & pieces, why not complete the puzzle by asking it to others (even if that includes @KRAIT :D ).

P.S. krait became excited because he thought he knows something that i don't know ;)

QUESTION

Did Pakistan inform India about the test of Nasr Missiles? They are also not ballistic but semi-ballistics?

.
Lame excuse....
Likewise Pakistan's Shaheen 2 can be controlled post boost as it has sideways thrust rockets...Nasr has canards and is manoeverable all the way...same for Ghaznavi..Has mid body fins and controls its trajectory...

Next time Pakistan dont need to inform India either...

QUESTION

count in Ghaznavi....has same characteristics as pershing 2 missile , and not a true ballistic missile..

Agreed...
Both countries are avoiding an accidental nuclear conflict by advising each other pre launch...
The only thing i can see in K-15 Launch was that it only went to 50Km Altitude..was targeted away from Pakistan and was launched on the other side of India..far away from Pakistan..
Pakistan couldnt have detected the launch on Radars..only by satellites...If Pakistan has any such satellites...

yaar everyone knows K-15 is not a ballistic missile.. And why on earth will we develop another ballistic missiles when we have agni ?? :hitwall:

The answer to that is ...........simply NO.

Whether Pakistan can detect such tests or not is irrelevant tbh. It is better there is an established framework for these things. And especially if India has the capacity now to detect such tests by Pakistan.

rectify it by accepting the error in communication with the media.
