I don't know whether the notorious reputation of British Pakistanis is a generalization or not. I am going to UK for a year in September so will find out first hand. As for the US, I agree that they tend to get the better ones such as doctors etc.
But then what about Australia? Seems they are not particularly integrated there also. And while I cannot say anything decisively about Canada because I don't know the complete picture, I have read enough accounts as to how parts of Toronto are becoming Pakistani ghettos.
No Pak ghettos in Toronto... there is an area where there is a higher concentration of poorer (newer immigrants) from pakistan called thorncliff. That Dawn article was way off base... thorncliff has many other communities there and very recently there been a lot of economic growth there recently and infrastructure investment by the city. It doesn't look anything like a "ghetto" ! Lol.
