Pak navy to expand ties with China

August 13, 2010: A year ago, two years after placing the order, Pakistan received the first of four F-22P frigates. The Pakistani have been very pleased with their inexpensive Chinese warships, and are planning on ordering four more. The second F-22P entered service late last year and the third is due this year. The fourth one is under construction in Pakistan. The F-22P an improved version of the Chinese Jiangwei II (053H3). Pakistan already has four of these, as the F-22.

The 123 meter (406 foot) long F-22P displaces 2,500 tons, and carries an eight cell short range (8.6 kilometers) FM-90N surface-to-air missile system. There are two, four cell anti-ship missile systems (180 kilometers range C-802s), two, three cell launchers for rocket launched ET-52C anti-submarine torpedoes, two, six cell RDC-32 anti-submarine rocket launchers. There is also a 76.2mm gun, two 30mm anti-missiles auto-cannon, and a helicopter. Each ship has a crew of 202 and a top speed of 52 kilometers an hour. The F-22Ps are inexpensive, costing about $200 million each. The new American LCS weighs about the same, but has only half as many sailors in the crew, lots more automation and costs over $600 million.

Look at cost comparison, same class US made vessel. Number of crew and attached equipment. Short and precise piece of info. 200 million verses 600 million. Its not exactly about F22. Every news has its own dimension.

When did India raised any concerns for any defence supply from China to Pak, will anybody care to explain?? Or simply want to bring India in all the threads and derailed them? Get a life guys.

New Heights in China Pakistan Strategic cooperative partnership

A very high powered Pakistan delegation is visiting China. The Chief of Army Staff held meetings with the Chinese Minister for Public Security Meng Jianzhu, and the Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guangli. It is expected that a sleuth of new agreements will be signed between China and Pakistan. The Chinese Vice President will be visiting Pakistan next month. In typical Chinese style, many of the agreements will not be announced ‘till later—leaving many guessing. After every major trip, the Bharati (aka Indian) reporters have a field day on what was agreed upon and what was not agreed upon.

The Chinese Pakistan relationship is not one of hoopla and fluff. On many occasions, the Pakistanis present ideas to the Chinese. On other occasions, the Chinese themselves present long term visionary designs for Pakistan.

Pakistan was wise to resolve its boundary dispute with China and regularize its border with China. The gift of 5000 square miles to China helped China consolidate its hold to Tibet. It was Prime Minister Nehru’s plan to grab all of Tibet (which was defined as half of China). After getting the territory from Pakistan, Beijing was able to consolidate its land link to Tibet—and then had the ability to combat Bharat in 1962 when Bharat had plans to invade China.

Bharati currency was banned in Tibet, and Bharati influences exterminated. Nehru’s dream of a greater Bharat were thus extinguished.

China has not forgotten the times in the sixties when it was isolated with diplomatic relations with Alabania and Pakistan only. The USSR and its allies had broken off relations with China after a Soviet-Mao rift.

There is a colossal tide of goodwill for China in Pakistan—and this goodwill transcends the political spectrum from the Communist Party of Pakistan to the mainstream PML and the PPP to the Ultra-Right wing parties like the Jamaat e Islami and the Jamiat e Ulema Islam. The ANP a very long time ago used to be Pro-Soviet, but after the demise of the USSR, that relationship died.

Pakistanis anxiously await the visit of the Chinese VP. The visit of the Defense establishment is a prelude to the bigger visit.

BEIJING: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani held a meeting with the Chinese defence minister on Thursday, in which both sides pledged to strengthen defence ties.

Kayani, who is currently on a five-day official visit to China, said Pakistan valued its defence and security ties with China, noting that cooperation in the defence sector had been very ‘fruitful’ in recent years, according to the Xinhua news agency.
“Cooperation between the Chinese and Pakistani armed forces is exemplary and has been fruitful,” Chinese Defence Minister Liang Guangli said during the meeting held at the Diaoyutai State Guest House.

He said China would join hands with Pakistan to bring defence cooperation to a new high.

Later, Kayani met Chinese Minister for Public Security Meng Jianzhu, top Chinese legislator Wu Bangguo, and the vice chairman of China’s Central Military Commission, Guo Boxiong.

Bangguo said Beijing would work towards promoting a strategic cooperative partnership with Pakistan. He spoke highly of the cooperation between the two neighbours’ armed forces, saying that joint efforts to combat the “East Turkistan Islamic Movement” bore testament to the fact that Pakistan-China relations are on track.

Are u forgetting resent Pak-China Nuclear Deal for building 2 Reactors in Pakistan..........India is crying in whole world and even putting pressure on other Nuclear energy suppling contries not to give Civil Nuclear energy to Pakistan.

dont be like that you dont know nothing every day in indian news we see and article we seee wheere indians cry over pak china deal concern what u have done with french deal who did it only indians even french news paper said over indian pressure french canceled aviocs deal with pakistan so they can seel rafale to indians multi billion dollar deal there are many examples dont let our mouth open
