'Pak leaders ignoring Kashmir'

Indian Govt should seriously take a note of this. It very well could mean Pakistani leaders may actually have started being more sensible. Does not bode well for India. Their flawed policies towards Kashmir must continue from India's POV.

:oops:you mean to say at last pakistan realised that they have been playing into indian hands all this while ?? ;)

.
Pakistani leaders are ignoring Kashmir because its a Indian State.

I,m sure the have plenty of focus on Azad Kashmire ie their side of the LOC.

Sort of. Last thing India needs is a Pakistan with its leaders only diplomatically meddling in Kashmir. The day they stop promoting terrorism will be the day Kashmir suddenly appears on every other country's to do list. What we need is an insanely obsessed Pakistan using whatever means to gain Kashmir. That keeps it away from international attention that is harmful to India. And now that we have it we should make sure we don't lose it.

so basically you are saying 'spend all your energy on kashmir in any which way you can & ignore everything at home front.. there by stopping yourself from growing in every sector.. be it socially, economically, etc.. etc & get youself into a situation where no one would listen to you internationally, no matter how hard you try to sensionalise the situation???'.. sounds like a good ploy!!

.
what is the position of india with regards to kashmir in pakistan?

.
The Jammu Kashmir Leadership Front (JKLF) is the only really peaceful group trying to lobby for an independent Kashmir,.

Hmm interesting, wise words from a military professionals mouth..:what:

The world had no clue about terrorism till 9/11, they realised it after feeling it.
We are feeling that terrorism in our State of J&K since 1980, and you call them peaceful..:what:

These scholarly theories and philosophical models work as long as you are sitting with your cup of coffee in a cosy room, not in reality.

We are saying over and over again that if CROSSS BORDER TERRORISM is stopped then and only then we can see peace. And I hope you are seeing terrorism going on in the region as was the case of Mumbai? And these very peaceful terrorists of your so called peaceful movement are again some where in Mumbai hatching another attack.

India cannot and will not get into any compromise with its territory with any third country..

You just blew off the cover of our secret plan

what is the position of india with regards to kashmir in pakistan?

India Parliament has passed a resolution that Pakistani Kashmir legally belongs to India & should be recovered one day. Not sure if it includes Aksai Chin though. I think it does.

To Bhim: I have been watching and dialoguing with some JKLF leaders since shortly after 911... who are based in the area of Bedford, England, not actually in the sub continent. However, through them I have had some dialogue about the current leader in India of the JKLF, who of course are up in the Srinigar area when not traveling.

***In recent years the leader of the JKLF has been doing college and univeristy speaking tours here in the USA. However, I am saddened that all to often the JKLF leader ends up speaking at predominanently Black colleges instead of largely to integrated or traditional colleges and universities. This does not bode well, I admit, as it implies speaking to the growing Black American student population instead of to the broad mix of all American college students and intellectuals.

My observations of the JKLF are factual in that the head of the organization disavowed violence in any and all forms years ago. He renounced his violent past over 10 years ago, which in itself is a form of progress.

Unfiltrators seeking to create bloodshed and mayhem are another cat, of the al Qaida and related Taliban types, of which as you know there are 5 Taliban variations with further breakdown into other splinter groups. Here some of the past and still current leadership and others within the ISI have been in league with these terrorists under the tired old story of trying to "fight India to save Muslims in illegally held parts of Kashmir."

I separate the JKLF out of such thuggery. Having lived and worked in old West Pakistan, some things never change. Get a bunch of young, deprived of many basics folks into a large crowd and it is a negative version of an old "Down South" Revival where a carismatic speaker can quickly whip the crowd into a violent rage. People the world over like to find fault and have someone else to blame for their problems, and undemocratic rulers in Pakistan historically want to keep the crowds focused on India lest they realize they are continually repressed, dictated to and ill treated by their own government at home.

There is the secondary issue of splinter Hindu terrorists in Kashmir, too, but they pale by comparison to what the ISI and their mignons do frequently.

BUT someday we have to see open borders, what is now the LOC, so families, commerce, and good spirited travel and communications can naturally break down the damnable hatred and hostility between Pakistan and India.

Many, especially among you who are well educated, expect instant results. I am a realist, an American, and see the long time frame necessary, not as a pipe smoking coffee swilling arm chair person. Cold reality requires a consltant effort to bring a better day instead of slinging violence inciting epithets. There is too much of that already from the half baked so called mullahs who are in league with the Wahabbi movement out of Saudi Arabia, whence comes some of the terror supporting financing.

@American Eagle, glad to know that you are aware of lot of facts, but unfortunately not all of them.
These organizations are all the same working with different names.
The JKLF is the public relations department of LET, nothing more.
They are masters of deception, cruel as devil and merciless murderers.

What they say in Universities or holy gatherings is a joke, even AQ preaches virtues on their holy sites and have some of the best religious teachers. But this does not make it good, why? Because we all know they are not good.

Similarly till all form of terrorism ends and those responsible are brought to justice, there can never be peace. But we will keep striving towards that end, we have patience and the will.

.
Its true that JKLF is lobbying for an indepedant Kashmir and has been largely secular driven using a nationalist ideology unlike LeT or other Pakistani based groups. Ofcourse the JKLF has split up as well into many groups as well citing ISI infiltration of the organisation. Dr Shabir Choudhry is also a founder of JKLF movement from the Pakistani side for example who runs his own pro-independance group in UK.

However, the reason why it did give up its violent means was in 1994 after their leadership got decimated by the pro-Pakistani extremist groups like Hizb and LeT. So it was out of necessity to survive that JKLF had to reconcile and decided to work with GoI. Infact many former JKLF leadders were assasianted by LeT and Hizb type groups for talking to GoI or taking a pro-Independance stance.

However the "wahabbi" link is just a much maligned misnomer that keeps propping up. The ideological inclination does not matter as much as their political inclination.
The main problem with groups like LeT and Hizb is that they want to establish a so called "Islamic country" in J&K which is completely against traditional Islamic school of though including the salafis/wahabis.
It is this political Islamic ideology that has to be tackled.

The JKLF have to realise that borders will not change and the next best thing is to resolve the conflict along the lines of Singh-Musharraf understanding in 2007-2008 called the four point formula.
