Pak- India trajectory

if you are done with baloney do you mind addressing the issues pointed out in that tweet?
Got your feet wet?

About the tweet, the constitution doesn't assign representation by religion. I believe that's the point made by the lady and she suggests changing it. I disagree with that. As far the constitution is considered, religion and state are separate matters. One's religion in personal life should not affect one's duty as an elected member. If an elected member acts in a way to discriminate and isolate one particular group based on any prejudices, there are safeguards the population can use to oust elected members.

Creating a quota for religions in the government will create an undesirable precedent. That only people of a particular religion can serve or speak for other's of their own religion. This goes against the democratic principles we have installed in this country. We're trying to unite people, not divide them with representation for each and every difference. India always strives to be at a point of homogeneity where a Hindu can represent a Muslim, or a Muslim can represent a Hindu.

Now, I'm not saying that's exactly what the BJP had in mind when they selected who they selected. Politics is a lot of popularity contest with a bit of statecraft thrown in, so the BJP went with whomever can get them popular. But that's why you won't have quotas for religious representation in politics.

So you are kind of agreeing with her that you are uniting everybody under bhagwa flag?
dont you think minorities get sidelined when they are not given any representation? 250 millions muslims and not even single one of them was worthy enough to go to parliament ? dont you think there is something wrong with your country? Heck even in Pakistan the Islamic republic
PTI has more Hindu members of parliament than BJP has Muslim members of parliament.

No I'm not. I'm saying that we are uniting people, some of whom have certain religious identities but that shouldn't restrict them. Keep in mind that along with the BJP representation, there are candidates from other parties as well. So the notion that there are no Muslims in the parliament might not be the case.

And why do you think there is anything wrong with this system? We have had Muslim members in the parliament in the past without any special representation. Even if we don't have them today, that might not be the case next time.

Does Pakistan have special representation for minority religions?

. . .
I didn't know that. So regardless of which party forms government, a certain number of seats will be assigned to minority religions?
Yes we have reserved seats for minorities and women (around 70 or so)

Can you calm down

India is far too strong economically, diplomatically and militarily for any country to invade and capture Indian territory, and that includes China too.

Muslims make up about 14% of India's population. They are Indians first, and their loyalty lies with India. They will not be picking up arms to fight a war for Pakistan or Bangladesh to capture any Indian territory. Kashmir is a separate issue due to the history of the region, but the vast majority of Indian Muslims are assimilated into the Indian society. @SrNair made a fantastic post in another thread on the social tensions between Hindus and Muslims in India, but there is no religious partition happening in India anytime soon. The only region where you might see exchange of land would be in JK, but that's about it. Hyderabad or Lucknow are not being partitioned anytime soon.

Hon @Hellfire , feel free to address the above as you're the one on ground. The only access we have is to online publications and videos on youtube.

Ignore that guy .He is another son of soil nut case.
