Pak High Commission Staffer held for Espionage

Agreed, it all started after the general elections. But RPG's and AK rifles won't fall from the sky, does they ?? :)

You can very well read that it was an armed insurgency, from where did they get the support both money and material support to sustain it well over 2 decades. Do you think everyone around the world are dumb ??

To cut short a long debate, lets make it simple.

Lets act upon the promise of Nehru in UN, Launch a referendum asking people of Kashmir what they want and settle this 69 years old issue between two nuclear nations. Like all the modest nations and mature democracies do.

That is the only solution for "Real Peace".

There are two parts to your reply.

1) Firstly, Pakistan shouldn't have unilaterally tried to change the status like in 1965 and 1999 wars. This had greatly eroded and diluted Pakistan's part of the story and after signing the Simla agreement it simply made it bilateral. That's why countries including China consider it as a bilateral issue with, India and Pakistan.

2) Let me correct you it's not UN resolution. It is UN security council resolution. UNSC resolution is just a resolution regarding Kashmir, more like some guidelines. It is non implementable as it was passed under Charter VI.

It is non binding in nature and hence, no obligations.

Simla agreement on the other hand is an agreement and the signatories are obliged to follow it.

There is a lot of difference between a "resolution" and an "agreement" my friend. :)

That said, I am always in favor of talks and peaceful resolution of all outstanding issues including Kashmir. :)

Again, To cut it short. No word twisting, no if and buts, Let the people of Kashmir decide what they want. That is the answer to your question about "Real Peace". Not India nor Pakistan, Let them decide what they want. Like all the modest nations and mature democracies do.

India to expel Pakistan embassy staffer for 'espionage'

India will expel a Pakistani high commission staff member for “espionage activities”, a foreign ministry official said Thursday, as local media reported that New Delhi police had detained him.

“FS (foreign secretary) summons Pak High Commissioner to convey that Pak High Commission staffer has been declared persona non grata for espionage activities,” foreign ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said on Twitter.

According to reports, Mehmood Akhtar, a staff member of Pakistani envoy Abdul Basit, was foundpossessing defence related documents”. However, he was later released due to diplomatic immunity, according to the Times of India.

Further, reports added that Basit was summoned by the external affairs ministry after police authorities sent the report regarding the detention to the concerned ministry.

Earlier this month, India once again claimed to have taken into custody a “Pakistani pigeon” with Urdu scribble written on its wings from Bamial village in Indian Punjab. The pigeon, detained by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, had an Urdu message addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the Press Trust of India (PTI).

The development came just a day after Indian forces claimed to have recovered two balloons with a similar message from the same area. “Modi, do not consider us the same people as we were during 1971. Now each and every child is ready to fight against India,” read the message.

Cross border firing

Five civilians sustained injuries on Thursday as Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged fire across the Working Boundary.

The “intense and heavy” exchange of fire continued for 11 hours on Harpal and Chaprar sectors on the Working Boundary, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. ISPR added that Pakistani troops responded “befittingly” to Indian firing and inflicted “heavy casualties” while targeting Indian posts.

Pakistan on Tuesday, lodged a strong protest with India and the United Nations Military Observers group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) regarding the ‘unprovoked’ firing along the Working Boundary which killed two civilians a day earlier.

Pakistan summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh, while lodging a protest against ceasefire violations along the Working Boundary by Indian Border Forces (BSF), Foreign Office said in a statement.

“It was conveyed to the Indian side that it should investigate the incident and share the findings with Pakistan, instruct its troops to respect the Ceasefire in letter and spirit, refrain from intentionally targeting the villages and maintain peace on the Working Boundary,” the statement read.

Looks like bhartis are once again shooting a new movie bollywood style.

I never twisted words or put any if or but's. But quoted some realities with supporting links. :)

Well I wish the Kashmiri's decide their future. But I'm more than sure that it won't happen anytime soon as long as both India and Pakistan are involved in one way or the other.

So according to me, let Pakistan keep the part they are managing at present and let India keep J & K. This will largely solve the issues and I guess it is the most practical solution. And after that if still people of J & K wish for independence (without external interference), I'm pretty sure no one can deny it. :)

Solutions according to you is not even acceptable by current indian govt of bhakts. They are talking about occupying Azad Kashmir. So lets drop here before you are announced anti national in India ;). But i must appreciate that at least you consider Kashmir as a trouble issue between two nations.

I used word twisting, if and buts for your future post. So i am good at guessing mentality of my neighbors :), If 100+ days curfew and 100+ dead bodies of innocent civilians can't convince you that what people of J&K demands then i am no one to convince you :( . So the bubble of "Real Peace" bursts here.

Lets keep killing each other, keep receiving dead bodies of our brave soldiers, keep buying expensive military hardware at the cost of our own people and wait for final war of destruction, believe me its coming.

Seems Indian playing all dirty tricks now. Daily shelling and injuring local farmers. Its better for Pakistan to shutdown Pak embassy and break all relation for while. Once BJP gone then revisit the relation.

Do it for good, we will doing that shortly from our end

It will be one of the best things to ever happen to Pakistan if there is an ALL & Complete severance of all ties/relations between Pakistan & india. On top of that the borders between the 2 need to be completely sealed. Nothing comes in and out of either side. Then there will be no terrorism or other related problems. It will also reduce the risk of conflict between the 2. And Pakistan could eventually fulfil our destiny of permanently forging links to China and the nations to the West of us of whom we share the most in common with.

WIN-WIN for both. I completely support the idea wholeheartedly.

Let's do it!

All the best with that, i sincerely hope that happens, but it wont.

A: will render your PAK ARMY useless and without purpose!

B: Kashmir is still yet to be resolved. India will not rest till Kashmir is resolved and under the control of the union of India.

sorry to burst your bubble!

Again it is only half part of the story since there is no curfew in J & K, it is only in Kashmir valley. That's why I have stated in my earlier posts, it's not the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir that is having the issue, it's only the valley, as you already know. It's basically the Mosque vs the Army, how much you try to say otherwise. Jammu and Ladakh are always relatively peaceful. :)

And no dear, there won't be a final war and I seriously hope so. :)

As you are the biggest Democracy in the world, i was talking about Majority in the State of Kashmir. Anyhow lets assume best for our amusement and ego :).

The love the Pakistan people have for the Pakistan army is something that an indian can never understand. They will ALWAYS be there as long as Pakistan is. The Pakistan people know that if it isn't than our fate would be far worst than that of the Palestinians, Iraqis, Afghans, Syrians and Libyans. indian threat will always remain. With the CPEC route going through Kashmir, it will bring great benefits there that will pacify the situation and consolidate our position. In all likelihood the LOC will eventually become the IB.

What the COMPLETE severance with India will do, is bring to the fore the REAL purpose and destiny of Pakistan which (has always been) is to increase our relationship with China and forge permanent links & bonds to those nations West of us of whom we share the most in common with. This will eventually happen as it is enivateable.

So I agree with the indian nationalist sentiment to permanently severe all contact, relations and ties to Pakistan. And permanently seal the ENTIRE border in an air tight and mammoth manner. The sooner the better.
