So which language? Mother tongues - Punjabi, Pashto, Sindhi, Balochi or the Urdu which is not mother tongue of the majority.Pakistanis are slaves

If you can get Pashto, Balochi or even Punjabi give me shout. The former two would at least sever us from the Bollywood garbage that contaminates Pakistani culture. Urdu sadly seems to being making us more 'Indian' then the Indian's themselves. What is that they use in Bollywood? Hindi which is another side of the same coin as Urdu.Any. If people can be educated in Serbian Lithuanian and Estonian, why not your various languages?
I believe in Russia people were educated in their own language, then had to learn Russian at a higher level.
In virtually every country in the world, English is taught as a foreign language. The language of education, up to and including university level, is in their own language.
I was in a Lithuanian university town a few months ago; all the signs in Universities were in Lithuanian. The language of education is Lithuanian. This is a country of about 2 million people. White people.

Did you know 50 years ago a person from a village in Mardan district could not possibly speak with somebody in Madras in India. Today most probably they can. The Madrasi has been taught Hindi. In Mardan Urdu has been foisted. As Urdu/Hindi are same sides of the coin barring minor differances the result today is a person from Mardan, Pakistan and Madras, India can chat and laugh together.
Something to muse over.

Currently what have in our schools
- a Kid who speaks urdu (its understood that 90% kids know urdu by the age of 5), goes to school and start learning in English. brings home work which involves mostly practicing writing ABCD.
- Kid is totally confused, he did not learn anything for first 5 years of his school but how to write English. In the mean time studying different subjects in English which he did not understand at all but ruttafied.
- By tenth grade he learned enough english to write a sick application which goes like this
Dear Sir,
I beg to say that I am suffering from fever since last night therefore i cannot come to school for two
days.
- by 10 grade he is able to read/understand enough english that what he studied in 3rd grade (in English) now starting to make sense to him (in 10th grade)
- so your kids are always behind 7 years.
- by the time they graduate from college, things that they studied in 7 grade are now making sense.
this is the age when they start having political views, but still with 7th grade knowledge they start supporting people like Imran, totally clueless
There is no harm in promoting national language, however, changing primary language for Primary Schools is incorrect. Government should first ensure that all the professional education documents are translated into urdu and then change the system all the way. Otherwise, our next generation will lag in international race in future. Even now state of International communication of many, rather majority, is poor. Communication is an aspect which can be overlooked, greatest loss will be in the field of research and development.Punjab Govt. Changed Primary Classes Syllabus English to Urdu Medium
While Grnd children of Nawaz SHraif and Shabaz Shrif are in English medium schools howevre this decision will deprive the 90% poor children to access to English.

Like I said, English should be taught as well(again there is then the matter of teaching quality that is reponsible), but basic education should be in mother-tongue.Have you ever taken the TOEFL exam. I had to take it even though I went to English medium schools.
